Evening Skincare Routine

Screen Shot 2013-05-27 at 19.49.53

After a recent video I made about how I treat my various skincare issues I had a few requests for an updated evening skincare routine.. so here it is.  This is just an average day but things do differ occasionally depending if my skin is feeling dry or if I’m breaking out..

L’Oreal 3-in-1 Purifying Micellar Solution
I use this to remove my eye makeup but you could cleanse your whole face with it and I have in the past.. it works I just prefer to deep clean my skin at night

L’Oreal Purifying Gel Wash
I swear this is just a coincidence.. L’Oreal did not sponsor this post (however y’know.. if you’re watching L’Oreal *wink*) I first use this to remove my makeup and then use it again with my Clarisonic to exfoliate, it really foams up the second time around.

Clarisonic Mia
To be clear – this is not a necassary tool, you can buy little scrublets such as this that will exfoliate in a a similar way and still get the product foaming up in the same way. I love my Clarisonic but I think it’s really for those who are looking to invest in their skin (read:older gals, not necassarilly essential for teens) – there are also cheaper versions like this on the market which probably work the same way

Everyday Minerals Deep Kissing Buff & Shine Lip Scrub
This stuff smells a bit like a chocolate orange – but not in a good way. It does the job but I wouldn’t repurchase.. I will probably give LUSH’s Bubblegum lip scrub another go when this runs out

Holland & Barrett Tea Tree Oil
My skin can handle this but not everyone can apply essential oils directly to their skin so just be wary. It’s a great blemish treatment but if you’re  a little more sensitive you may need to dilute it with water on a cotton pad

Forest People Luminous Serum For Eyes & Lips
This is again something that I’d happily switch out but am currently trying to use up. It’s basically an oil and since I don’t have a current favourite eye cream I use it there and I find it particularly hydrating as a lip treat overnight too. A nice alternative would be this from The Body Shop.. much cheaper, smells nicer and is multipurpose!

Organic Surge Blissful Daily Moisturiser
Every time I use this I think I have to do a Holy Grail Products video/post soon because there are so many things I just love and this is one of them. It’s dubbed as a day cream and I can see why because it’s light and absorbs quickly but if you have oily, spot prone skin like me it’s perfect as a night cream. It’s hydrating enough yet doesn’t feel heavy and the scent is so fresh.. I just can’t tell you how much I love it but it’s definitely one of my most raved about products.

These are the products that for the most part are keeping my skin clear and looking fresh at the moment but I’m always on the lookout for bigger so any recommendations are very welcome! .. I am desperately seeking eye cream right now and it’s on my list of things I’m willing to splurge on while in London later this month.. I’m looking at Khiels midnight recovery right now but would appreciate any suggestions from you guys!

I have never found a eye cream or gel I like until I had a little sample of dermalogica age smart multi vitamin power firm ! I know your a budget blogger and this is obviously not cheap but I loved it and I have trouble with dark circles and I really did see a difference. I hated when I ran out but now Ive stopped using it I can tell the difference again! Also just to clarify I’m 22 next month so just because its from the age smart range doesn’t mean you have to be older to use it. Maybe try a sample for a week and see how you feel about it!

Hi, I love your blog, this post is really helpful. I also have oily skin. Have you found a decent day cream with decent SPF in it as I got my skin in ok condition and now have a huge breakout as my sun cream was too heavy for it 🙁

Do you have any recommendations for products to use before going on a sun holiday? My skin is a bit oily and my chin is quite spot prone but it dries out loads in the sun, want to be sure it’s well hydrated before I go away in a few weeks. Thanks! 🙂

I have a great mask from La Roche-Posay, I think it’s called hydraphase and its amazing even on my oily skin.. not heavy just hydrating anf its a small bottle so you could easily take it on holiday

SO great to see a video/post like this from somebody with oily skin. I always get nervous about moisturizers because of my skin and haven’t used them in the past, recently picked up a Yes to Tomatos one that isn’t specifically a night cream but should do a good enough job for me, I would love to test out the Organic Surge if I could get it in Canada but great to see your routine. I have a brown sugar lip scrub at the moment (Julep) but I smelled the Bubblegum Lush one recently, yum!

the boots version of the clarisonic is brilliant and its only £25. It’s saved my skin! I don’t get spots anymore.
