I’ve had a few of these over the past year or so from various beauty boxes and every one has been terrible. Dry and useless. I just couldn’t understand the hype, why Alexa Chung would willingly promote it (let alone pretend it’s her favourite) – I just didn’t get it.. until I received a full sized one in last months Glamour. Totally different, wet, not at all difficult to use.. the smaller ones – obviously duds, Alexa – not a liar after all, hype – deserved.
Under normal circumstances I am not a fan of felt tip eyeliners, I’m a traditional liquid, flexible brush kinda gal. The main issue I have with the firmer nibbed variety is drag, my eyes are still young but they’ve never been what I’d call ‘tight’ – some people naturally have those facelift looking eyes, gorgeously stretched across their faces.. not me, round, on the smaller side and hooded. Not the easiest to work with but I’ve never had a problem with the traditional method. This is the first felt tip I’ve actually successfully drawn a line with, the picture below was a quick test on a day old makeup-ed face but with practice it’s getting even easier.
I’m still not ready to get rid of my trusty old favourites but if like me you’d written off felt tip liners I would absolutely recommend you give this a go..
PS. I’m wearing MACs Kelly Yum-Yum lipstick for those I know will ask because it’s insane, haha
