Face Mask Friday – Ilsci Flavanoid

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALet me preface this post by asking, don’t you just HATE finding a product you love at a price you do not? I don’t often feel compelled to try little sample pots such as this, I usually stash them in my drawer for nights away etc but one whiff of this stuff and it had to be on my face asap. It’s full of natural, organic ingredients and smells like fresh berries.. delicious! A lot of masks claim to wake up your skin and boost various things (usually collagen and this one’s no different) but this is one of very few I’ve tried that I can tell you really did perk me up with just one use.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI wore it for 15 minutes and upon removing my skin felt plump, smooth and fresh. Even after it set it was a dream to remove, no harsh scrubbing, it just wiped away. It smells yummy, it LOOKS bizarre (a bit like smearing strawberry jam on your face) but it really works, it really really does. Now that being said there are products that work for half the price that look a bit more swish – you KNOW how I feel about packaging, especially from an expensive brand such as this – so I wont be running out and buying this in a hurry but if I found it on sale (we’re talking 50% off MINIMUM) or happened to receive another sample I’d be all over it.

Available online for £39.95 here (ouch)

PS. The name ‘Flavanoid’ just makes me think of Professor Frink from The Simpsons..

the look of the mask sent shivers down my spine – when I use a facemask it’s usually for relaxation for a pamper night so the look of this facemask put me right off!

Oh my goodness! This is daylight robbery! I am hungarian and use to use it, my mum still does, it is a very old brand, super traditional, I don’t think he packaging ever gets upgraded and you can’t buy it in drugstores. It is more expensive than you average product would be but not that expensive, I’m afraid Birchbox is having a laugh. Such a shame because it is a great brand!

This mask didn’t do much for my skin. I wasn’t very impressed especially because, as you say, it’s expensive. I think my mask was different but the brand was the same. I’m glad it worked better for you!

What an interesting looking face mask! I’ve never seen anything quite like it before and it’s nice that you did see some tangible results after using it. But I agree with you and think that it’s a bit on the pricey side for what it is! 🙂

I will be looking for something similar for less for sure, it was really plumping, something I’m looking for more and more as I age 🙁 lol

I’m hungarian, I know this brand really well and I have to say, I thought that you are just kidding with the price… Here, in Hungary this product (and actually any Ilcsi product) is really cheap, like not even 10 pounds… Ridiculous…
