*Face Mask Friday* LUSH Mask Of Magnaminty

IMG_3929IMG_3889I have to say a lot of masks I’ve bought from LUSH have been a bit disappointing but this one is excellent. Lots of you had recommended it to me when in the past I’ve asked for suggestions of what to buy and I can see why. I always put it off because it’s designed for spot-prone skin which I don’t necessarily consider my skin to be anymore and given that they’re fresh and have a shorter shelf life than your average mask I wasn’t convinced I’d use it in the time I should. I recently had a few breakouts (nothing major but enough to want to treat them) and decided to give it a go, I’m happy to see that they have a new ‘self preserving’ formula (which I assume means I don’t have to keep it in the fridge but please correct me if I’m wrong) and that it’s a totally different consistency to others I’ve tried. My experience in the past with LUSH masks is that they’re tough to keep on your face, they crumble off and unless you’re laying down it’s going to be on your lap after 5 minutes. Granted I haven’t tried MANY but that definitely put me off. This is a wetter formula and adheres better to the skin.. I know you’re only supposed to leave it on for 10 or so minutes but I can confirm it will stick around for considerably longer if you’re the type to wear a mask while doing the housework etc.

Now that’s all well and good but does it actually do anything? I believe it does. I use face masks a lot and at least 50% (and that’s being kind) of them do very little in the way of an instant result but my blemishes were noticeably reduced after wearing this. Another thing I enjoyed was the texture, to remove it you basically have to scrub it off your face (that sounds awful, that’s not really what I mean) it doubles as an exfoliator which means even if you didn’t see great results from the 10 minute treatment you likely will from the removal – pretty clever LUSH, you tricksters! I need very little per use so a tub will last me ages (providing it stays fresh – but then I’ve never had one expire yet) and of the many things I’ve tried from the brand over the years it’s definitely something I’d repurchase and recommend. Oh.. and for those wondering, it smells like toothpaste.

What’s your favourite LUSH face mask? Or just mask in general.. I’d love to know, I’m a bit of a junkie so always looking for a new one to try!

Mask of Magnaminty is my favourite Lush mask! You don’t need to keep the self – preserving or the original in the fridge either so it’s much less hassle than the other fresh face masks. I actually prefer the original version as I feel like it’s stronger and packs more of a punch x

My very favourite face mask is Sanctuary Spa’s Time reversal mask and I like to add a few drops of their facial oil to it and leave it on overnight. It smells gorgeous and I wake up with really quenched glowing skin.

This is my fave Lush mask, it isn’t one of the fresh ones and does last loads longer.

I haven’t used a face mask in SO long! I would love to try a Lush face mask. I guess I’m scared of trying them because the last few I used made my skin burn or break out in a rash! Would this be okay for super sensitive skin?

With this being minty I’d be wary because menthol can be an irritant. If you’re stopping by a Lush it would definitely be worth asking for a tester, I’m sure they’d be more than happy to arrange that! 🙂 xx

I’ve recently bought this one and so far I’ve been liking it a lot. I’m a fan of Lush products but this was actually the first face mask I’ve tried from them.
