*Face Mask Friday* Oriflame Blackhead Clearing Mask

It’s Friday!!! For most that will be a good thing but for me it marks the end of my last week off *sob* .. but I’m sure you’ve all heard enough of my whining so let’s just get on with the review, shall we?

This week I’m looking at a brand I haven’t heard of in the longest time.. Oriflame. Does anyone else remember them? They were an Avon type retailer in my childhood and I believe they still operate via catalogues and ladies at your door but you can also buy their products online and like Avon providing you buy them at the right time there are some great deals to be had. On that note this particular mask is currently on offer for £4.45 down from £6.45 (here).. talk about good timing!

First things first, I didn’t purchase this, it was sent to me for review but I selected the items I wanted to try and the reason I chose this is I recently suffered a monster blackhead and had no idea how to treat it. Since I started using this huge selection of masks I am drawing impurities out of my skin I never knew I had and creating issues like cystic acne and blackheads that I just don’t know how to deal with. Any product targeted at clearing my skin is always appealing and a bonus is that next time I get a blackhead I will have this in my stash to help get rid of it. I did find it helped to shift the threatening blemishes I had on my chin, I’d put that down to the salicylic acid which I know my skin likes and during breakouts yours probably will too. It does dry out your skin a little though so although the last thing you feel like doing is adding moisture it is necessary, if you strip your skin of all it’s oils it will panic and produce even more than normal.. that’s something I didn’t learn til my 20s but I wish I’d know as a spotty teenager!

If you’re oily/combination it’s likely you’ll get on well with this treatment but anything drier and it’s not going to do you much good at all. You only need a thin layer and you’ll feel/see a difference but I do tend to pile it on thick on my ‘problem areas’. Oriflame recommend using this 1-2 times a week and it will stay in my rotation of many masks to hopefully help keep my skin balanced and blemish free.

You can order from the representative that sent me this mask here or directly from the Oriflame site here

I bought the Citrus Clear Grapefruit Spot Treatment to reduce the oil on my combination skin and to get rid of some of my blackheads. Yes! You can use the Citrus Clear spot treatment as a mask as well! My dermatologist told me this, and I am so happy about it!

I rinse with lots of warm water to open my pores and then use the Citrus Clear Grapefruit Spot Treatment. About half of my blackheads go away each time I use it! It’s a fantastic product and I’m addicted.
