Can I just take a moment to ask, how is it Friday already? As I type this I have this weeks mask on my face for a second time, the reasons are two fold. I wanted to remember the consistency and application but also.. I actually really like it! I’ve mentioned before that I like to wear a mask around the house either during the day when I have nowhere to be or in the hour or so leading up to my evening bath. This means that I prefer formula’s that dry and harden rather than crumble off in clumps leaving a trail all over my carpet. Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 mask in a cleanser, a scrub and a mask so I was expecting a sticky, wet consistency but it couldn’t have surprised me more. It’s thin and gritty (scrub) and dries super fast which is totally bizarre when you consider that you can use this as a regular wash but I guess you’d be constantly moving it and mixing it with water. I haven’t used it for anything other than a mask yet but what I like most about multi-purpose treatments is that they eliminate the need to cleanse and scrub when I do get in the tub which is a huge time saver on the days I don’t have lots to spare.
You don’t need very much of this product either which obviously adds value to it’s cost per wear ratio. I use just a thin layer and it hardens and leaves my face feeling tight and botoxy like I think a face mask should. I for one miss a good mask that makes you feel like you can’t smile. This is designed for acne prone skin but rather unusually contains no alcohol so although it leaves me feeling squeaky clean it doesn’t dry my skin out. Given that I do get the odd monster breakout but my skin is on the drier side it’s the ideal formula for me.
Vichy is a brand I’ve heard a lot of blogger buzz about and in truth I never really looked in to it because for some reason I thought it was a high end brand and although it’s not the cheapest mask on the market I was pleasantly surprised to learn this will retail for just £11.00 when it launches mid August (available at Boots). I was sent this product to review but will definitely be looking at Vichy next time I’m in the market for new skincare as this really helped to clear my skin after a bit of a stress breakout this week. I did notice a brightening effect but in truth I do after any kind of exfoliation, regardless if you’re replacing your cleanser, scrub and occasional treatment with this I think you’re going to see really good value for money!
