Family Friendly Fun.. In Vegas?! *sp

Vegas can be an exciting place for adults to take a holiday, but what about children? Is it a place that offers activities appropriate for children? The short answer is a resounding yes. Vegas has definitely evolved from its former casino dominated city into a noteworthy family vacation spot. Many of the casino resorts offer activities for the parents while including others that the children will find entertaining.

The Mirage, located on the Vegas Strip, is the home to Siegfried & Roy’s “Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat”. This exhibit provides children with the opportunity to safely view some exotic animals of the world including white lions, panthers, leopards, white tigers and bottlenose dolphins. The MGM Grand is another casino resort that offers fun family activities. The Grand Arena is the site of many entertaining acts including music concerts. Among the shows hosted here is the fascinating magician, David Copperfield, whose show will amaze your family. The Grand Pool Complex is also a favourite for families to relax while in the bustling city.

A fun and unique place to visit while in Vegas is Ethel M. Chocolates. Established in 1980, this chocolate factory boasts preservative free chocolate. When visiting the factory, the Botanical Cactus Garden is right next door and has one of the largest cacti displays in the state. The Adventuredome Theme Park is another option for family entertainment. Wildly popular, the amusement park accommodates the full spectrum of children’s age with rides fitting them. The world’s largest indoor double loop roller coaster can be found here at the Adventuredome. While visiting Vegas with the family may make it difficult to enjoy casino gambling, there are some other options. Hotels provide Wi-Fi access which makes it easy to enjoy online casino gaming at

You guys know I love Vegas but I’m not sure it’s viable to go for a week away without the kids next summer so a big family vacation is on the table. We’re going for a long weekend away for our anniversary in January but I’m interested to hear from the parents among you who have braved a long haul flight with a toddler.. I’d love to go back with the kids but maybe when they’re older..

I just got married in Vegas in May. I liked it but probably wouldn’t go back, and not sure it’s really a place for kids, with so many other kids specific places available.

My brother got married in LV last Sept – They took their (at the time) 2yr old daughter. I think there’s definitely enough for them to do if you do your research. However I do remember one pet hate & that was having to keep coming bk to the hotel mid afternoon so she could have a nap. Vegas (as you know!) is a tiring place at the best of times, but me & my boyfriend tried to solider on through the day and just take breaks in hotels with a drink, just to make sure we got to see everything in the week that we were there, so I can imagine having a young child can be quite frustrating in a place like that because if its a first time visit, its definitely not a relaxing chilled out holiday by far. x

DVD players are great!! Also books, colouring books/crayons, toys anything to distract them!! If its a big plane you can go for walks around but beware if you start that they constantly want to do it!! Remember that the babe gets there own hand luggage so I pack them a toy and changing bag of their own and have a bag with my stuff in too! Xx

thanks! I remember my Mum saying she packed me a present to open evey hour when she took me to America when I was 4 haha.. she says she looks back now and realises it sounds ridiculous but I think it’s a great idea if you have a kid that’s likely to kick off just to keep them entertained
