In these photos I was feeling the opposite of blue.. (red?) I was the picture of health and current me hates past me a little right now for that. You know (because I wont stop complaining about it) that I’ve been under the weather, well today I found out it’s Tonsillitis.. great! I have medication now so fingers crossed I’ll start to feel better soon but yeah.. that’s where the title inspiration came from, that and the colour of the sunglasses of course 😉
Moving swiftly on, those of you who are regular readers will know that I’ve developed a slight Ray Ban obsession of late so when Sunglasses Shop offered me a pair to review I couldn’t say yes quick enough. I did however let me husband choose this pair as I can only wear so many at once and they’re all pretty much unisex, right? He initially chose a pair of royal blue ones that I gently steered him away from in favour of this more subtle navy pair. What he liked about them other than the colour was that they’re matte, a bit different.. I like it too. They do have a slightly more masculine edge but I definitely still steal them from time to time and they are a nice change from basic black or brown and are a little more forgiving against my pale skin too. The style are the New Wayfarer which are a little smaller than the originals (I’m not sure which I prefer) and a little more delicate, the regular Wayfarers Lee has seem really chunky compared to these.. just a note for those deciding between the two – I also have a tortoiseshell pair you can see here for reference.
As I always say I was put off buying more expensive sunglasses for so long after breaking every pair of Primark specials I’d ever bought but as yet I’m yet to so much as scratch a pair of RayBans and that’s including the aviators that fell off my head on to the pavement – you really do get what you pay for so if you’ve been hankering after a pair but worry about quality I would absolutely recommend them. Of course if you’re looking for a super trendy pair the high street might be a better bet but for classic shades you can keep forever I think they’re well worth the money.
Sunglass Shop were generous enough to offer a giveaway for my readers so one of you lucky lot will win a pair of these (handpicked by my husband, lol) Matte Blue New Wayfarers of your very own. All you have to do to enter is visit their facebook page via the little gadget below and like it – you can also tweet about the giveaway to increase your chances of winning but that’s an optional bonus entry.
