Feeling Retro

IMG_1250While rummaging through my ‘secondary wardrobe’ the other day – where all of the clothes I’m not super excited about/out of season live – I rediscovered this dress. I bought it back in February and loved it but the sleeves bugged me SO much, as with most tea dress styles they were tight and restrictive. I couldn’t lift my arms which drove me mad in a bizarrely claustrophobic way so I tried to fix it. I cut down the sides and mae the arms holes larger, unfortunately this did absolutely nothing the remedy the restrictive feeling and just made the sleeves look oversized.. It went away unworn but I decided to give it a go this week. I like it but the neckline isn’t perfect either so it will likely be sent to the clothes bank to make room for something else but I’m glad I finally wore it at least once. It was a Primark bargain so I don’t feel too bad about it.

As it was so hot when I got in from work I decided to give the Iced Tea pods a go in my new Dolce Gusto machine. I used to really like Peach Iced Tea when I was a kid so when I put in my drinks order online I threw in a box to try. The directions suggest you fill your glass with ice which I would definitely recommend, I didn’t have any otherwise I would have.. it doesn’t come out of the machine all that cold. I also might chill some water in the fridge ahead of time and fill the machine with it to give it the best chance possible to get a really cold result. Taste wise it was really nice and a refreshing change to make a non-hot drink in a coffee machine. I have some iced coffee pods too for Lee but I like my coffee HOT.. I can’t imagine it any other way. Once he’s tried that I’ll give his verdict.

Anywho, I’m off to town to pick up my friend from the hairdressers now, I am SO excited to see her as this is her 3rd session going blonde from a very dark brown and I’m fairly certain this one will be the highest impact. If you’re interested her blog is here and YouTube is here.. I will let you know when her full Brunette – Blonde transformation video is live as many of you found me on YouTube doing something similar in a very damaging, DIY way so you may be interested to hear the side of someone who went it the professional route. I know I am!

*Dolce Gusto machine was sent to me as pasrt of the #DolceGustoBlogger scheme, I will be taste testing several of their drinks over the coming months but am not being compensated otherwise.

Lovely dress – shame the sleeves aren’t perfect!
I lived on peach iced tea when I was on holiday in Croatia so it always reminds me of there now (:

Love the print – why not cut the sleeves off completely? X

Ahh Its not the armholes it the top of the sleeve head which is making them feel tight, You could always cut them off? And the neckline can be reshaped, you could take it to a sewing shop, wouldnt be too much of a big job to do. Its a shame because it looks gorgeous on you! Read really suits you 🙂

The sleeves could be an easy fix but I have to say I love that dress on you I think it flatters your shape really well. It’s a shame your going to get rid!

It’s a shame this dress didn’t work out for because it looks lovely with your complexion, plus I love the print! No point keeping uncomfortable clothing though, eh!
