Firework Fingertips

I actually took these photos last week to get them up ahead of bonfire night but my blog has taken a serious back seat recently. I was away at the weekend and when Vlogtober ended (vlogging every day in October) I had to find other videos to fill up that channel so if I’m honest I’ve given YouTube more of my time recently but I’ve set aside tomorrow to get caught up and back on the blogging track. Anywho.. I guess better late than never so here are my firework inspired nails.

First I used MAC’s Bad Fairy (limited edition from the Venomous Villains collection) then tipped half them with Essie’s For The Twill Of It. I unintentionally created something that would be more fitting for a US holiday such as 4th July but I guess that’s firework related so I’ll run with it. To blend the two colours together (as much as you can anyway) I used the NYC Disco Inferno top coat first all over the nails and then another coat on just the tips.. I really like this effect and will be trying it with different colours come Christmas.

The MAC duo chrome would have been enough on it’s own really as there’s something very firey about it, one of my favourites for this time of year and if anyone knows of a similar polish available to buy now I’d love to hear from you because I’m rationing this until I manage to find another.

What will your nails be wearing this evening?

Miss BB*Fun Fact* – I actually hate fireworks, I’m scared of the noise and the whole bonfire night thing represents unecessary risk to me, I know I’m mad but I wondered.. am I alone?

I’m not a fan of bonfire night either. Fireworks are pretty but not enough to stand outside in the freezing cold to watch them and when I’m sitting inside on the night like now the bangs are really annoying. I don’t think its right to sell fireworks to the public, fair enough having professional displays but every year teenagers manage to get hold of them and then they burn themselves or put them through people’s letterboxes. Its not fair on animals either, why should they have to be terrified for something so pointless? So yeah, not a firework fan haha.

i like watching fireworks and don’t mind the noise, but it makes me shudder how 18year olds can be trusted with them, last year a few boys were throwing them out of car window, so absolutely agree with unecessary risk! x

If I loved them I might still go, I don’t know but I’m seriously paranoid when it comes to the kids and if I saw someone throw a firework like that when I had them with me I’d probably never let them out of the house again lol.. once they’re of an age where they’re out on their own I’m going to be that parent that sits up worrying til they come home

Personally i LOVE bonfire night, it’s the one time of year that all of my family get together (there’s about 30 of us) and we all bring some kind of food and fireworks and we have a nice catch up and a great. Yes there are always going to be the irresponsible kids messing about with fireworks, but i’m sorry why should that spoil the night for everyone else? Things like bonfire night and halloween are all about making sure the kids have a great night, and i don’t want to sound like i’m judgung you or anything but form what i’ve seen in your blogs and this post, you didn’t do anything for either of these occasions. It makes me wonder, do you not feel that your children are missing out on these experiences?

Way not to judge, lol. We have a huge Halloween party every year and I love that I just don’t like fireworks. I never did, even as a kid and I hated being dragged along to bonfires so as soon as I was old enough to stay home I did. It works both ways you might love them but your kids might not and I don’t think that not taking them to a bonfire is going to negatively affect their lives.

    This is so pretty!

I personally love fireworks! In Malaysia, we don’t celebrate bonfire night, but we used to light fireworks during Chinese New Year (to scare away evil) and I loved it. It used to be a really big deal and all the kids would get to stay up until past midnight and we would all set of fireworks on the street. It was fabulous! (ok, I personally never set off any, being too scared, but fireworks always reminds me of Chinese New Year).
