#FOTD – Pink Berry

IMG_5742

I so rarely remember to do these kinds of posts, last week I decided to leave my camera in the bedroom (now, now!) in the hope I’d take a picture of something (beauty related.. really you guys!) worth blogging and I did.. I think. I had some new products to try out and a rather irritating flaky skin issue to deal with so it seemed like a good time to share the products I used with you.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm*, MUA Undress Your Skin, Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot, Bourjois Bronzing PowderSeventeen Blush in  First Flush*, Beauty UK Baked Blush in Halo*, Maybelline Eye Studio Master Shape Brow Pencil in Dark Blonde, NYC Individual Eyes Palette in Midtown Mauve*, Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Khol Kajal Eyeliner in Black (not pictured), Seventeen Doll’d Up Mascara*, Benefit Her Glossiness in Who Are You Wearing (discontinued – here’s a dupe from Revlon)

You may see some redness around my nose and chin, I had a bad reaction to a face mask (I haven’t written it off yet though it was my own fault – misuse rather than bad product I think) well as a result my skin was really chapped and dry for a few days and between the Beauty Flash Balm and my MUA foundation I was pretty good. I don’t use the BFB often but if you have very dry skin and are in the market for an amazing primer I would absolutely say it’s worth the splurge.. my skin is pretty normal/oily usually however so it’s something I just keep for ’emergencies’. I recently started using this Maybelline brow definer again after writing it off completely having used it only a couple of times. Good blonde eyebrow pencils are so tough to find anywhere let alone at the drugstore so I thought I’d persevere and I found that the waxy consistency actually wasn’t too bad after I brushed it out with the spooly.. it’s my current favourite but I’m always on the lookout for better. The best I’ve used it Fling from MAC but it’s so expensive for how much you get I really only buy that when I’m treating myself. The new S&G blotting powder is pretty good, very powdery at first but if like me you get oily fast that wont last and it keeps me relatively matter for most of the day. It’s not something I’d use to touch up because of the finish but it’s a good product to start your day with. The 17 Blush is beautiful and a totally different colour to anything else I have but the colour payoff is so strong I struggle to get a sheer covering and it doesn’t blend easily. I’ve been trying out some different brushes and am hoping to find a good duo fiber blush brush at IMATS this weekend as being heavy handed with cheek products is a big problem for me, there is so much I can’t use because of it. The Beauty UK Baked Blush gives a gorgeous sheen and I will be posting on that separately, I’ve been so impressed with it it deserves it’s own shout out I think so watch this space for that. This NYC palette is a new one and although I wouldn’t call them Summer colours the berry shades are my absolute favourites so whatever the season I will get a lot of wear out of this selection. Lastly I finally got Seventeen’s Doll’d Up mascara, I’m so picky with mascara wands and althought this doesn’t build a ton of volume I really like this one. It’s a fine plastic brush and it seperates nicely an lengthens.. if my lashes weren’t so straight this would be more apparent in the photos but my long standing love hate relationship with eyelash curlers means they will never look better than this without falsies, I’m afraid.

So.. that’s my face! What new products have you been trying out lately? Any recommendations?

Miss BB

i’ve just bought an arcancil maxi blush in 007 coquette brunette and absolutely love it! it gives you a healthy and bronzy glow, might work great with that nyc eyeshadow palette!
