Four Fall Lips

Clockwise – Hue, Infatuation, Raspberry, Sellout

I know throughout September many of you were still clinging on to Summer for dear life but it’s October now folks and thus starts my favourite time of year. It’s officially Autumn and you know what that means? Almost Christmas, there I said it! Expect a festive version of this post nearer the time because while looking through my lipsticks it was tough not to pull out my glossy reds so I’ll allow them their time when it’s more ‘season appropriate’.

These are my four favourites for fall, Natural Collection – Raspberry, Accessorize – Infatuation, MAC – Hue and Urban Decay – Sellout.

Hue is my all time favourite nude, it’s peachy, not too pale and kind of sheer so it works with your own lip colour to give a more natural look. At this time of year I tend to go more dramatic with the eyes and lighter on the lips so it’s a staple in my Autumn/Winter lipstick wardrobe. I only have Sellout at all because I worked for Urban Decay once upon a time and rather than staff discount they would send you huge packages of free products every so often and this was in one such package. I would never have been drawn to it in a store but it’s a great colour for me, a warm neutral that adds colour to my complexion rather than washing me out. My only issue is the taste.. I don’t know if they’ve improved the formula along with the packaging (which also sucked) but you just don’t want something on your lips that tastes bad. Infatuation was a PR sample sent to me by Accessorize, again not something I’d have picked up but I have worn it so much. I have similar colours in my collection from my ‘goth’ themed youth but haven’t touched them in years until I received this and rediscovered a love for deep reds. It’s also very on trend this season… but that rarely factors in my cosmetic decisions. lastly we have Raspberry, another happy accident actually. I was looking to expand my ‘super budget’ (IE very cheap) makeup collection in order to share even better deals with you all and stumbled upon the Natural Collection stand. I was looking for something I didn’t already have and this fit the bill. It’s not necessarily an Autumn shade.. it’s probably more Spring but it’s a nice berry pink that could be worn day or night and given the price the quality is very very good.

L-R – Hue, Sellout, Raspberry, Infatuation

You can expect lots more Winter Warmer style posts now it’s officially Autumn (my Next Christmas catalogue just arrived mid post – Aaahh yeeeahh!!) so if there’s anything specific you’d like to see featured let me know but I have lots of skin care and beauty lined up to keep you occupied when it’s too cold to venture out!

I love infatuation – it’s the perfect deep red that I’ve been looking for this fall! I like to use Revlon’s Just Bitten Balmstain in Adore. It’s been my go-to red lip the past few weeks.
