Umberto Giannini have launched a campaign to show their customers how to use their products to create multiple different looks. Tali Lennox can be seen modelling the various style here and every other day (starting today) I will be attempting to recreate them for you. I am no expert when it comes to hair and do very little with mine day to day so this will be interesting and you can trust that if I’m able to emulate a style ANYONE is! There will be 7 looks in all and Tali has both professional and ‘selfie’ style pictures of them on the site which I quite like as you can see them in the formal ‘high fashion’ pictures as well as a more realistic version in the casual pictures. I’m never going to look perfectly polished but that’s the beauty of the looks they’ve chosen, they’re all very voluminous and messy so there’s a lot of room for error and in some cases the messier the better.
Today I am recreating the ‘Free Flowing Texture’ look you can see on Tali here. I created a little texture in my hair using my straighteners.. I can’t create full on curls with them, I have NO skill but they’re perfect if you’re looking for messy waves. I used the Backcomb In A Bottle spray at my roots which to my surprise wasn’t super sticky.. it’s much nicer to use than the powder volumisers I’ve tried but you can obviously feel the product in your hair. It’s more like a hairspray that somehow makes my hair magically expand. Once I’d worked it in to my roots I used the Perfect Beauty Finishing Cream to smooth my dry ends (that’s the bleach *sob*) and give those waves a little definition and I was done.
I actually used to wear my hair like this a lot once upon a time but since having Milo my hair has felt too thin to pull it off.. I’m excited to try more looks with this spray now as it gives it so much more body!
