FUSE One Step Gel Nails

I  honestly thought I was going to love this system, I am a big fan of the original Sensationail kit so a more compact, travel friendly version seemed like a great idea. The lamp is a one finger at a time deal so it’s 30 seconds per finger – sounds time consuming until you discover that the new Fuse gel-namel is a one coat formula – no top/base coat needed! Say whaaaa?

SOUNDS great but in reality it’s much thicker than the regular Sensationail polishes so harder to work with, the brush was an awful shape (fan!! who makes a fan shapes nail polish brush??) so the application was messy and worst of all there was zero shine to the finish. I have no idea how long it lasts because I only did one hand, I couldn’t face a week of this dodgy manicure but even if it lasted that long I wouldn’t be impressed. The little areas I’d missed with the brush I went back in to try to ‘get right’ but the polish layered up to give a less than smooth effect.

The lamp itself is a great idea and very unique, it’s powered by a USB (come with a plug adapter too) so you can plug it in to your laptop or even an external battery (I’m thinking the phone charger I keep in my bag) so it’s ideal for travel or touch ups on the go

Unfortunately that’s where the positives end with this kit. If any of you have tried this and really love it I’d be interested to hear from you because it could well be a bad bottle of polish that’s (pardon the pun) taken the shine off this for me but I can’t recommend it I’m afraid.

I filmed my first application/impressions which you can watch here or below. The kit is available online for £35.00 and the colour I have is Vamp

It’s a shame these didn’t work for you, I’ve actually read some decent reviews and the colour of that particular polish colour is really nice. Do you know if the usb lamp would work with other brand gel polishes, because that might well make up for the poor quality of their own!

Fuse do an enamel in the colour ‘gone fission’ which looked AMAZING in the bottle. If I could only have one nail colour for the rest of my life, that would be it. Unfortunately, closer inspection revealed that it was only the bottle that looked so perfect, and the actual formula was just a glitter topcoat.

I have never been so disappointed, and this review has just confirmed my plan to steer well clear!

Unfortunately this is what happens when a professional grade product enters the public domain. Systems like this will never work on the cheap and a gel polish manicure should ONLY be carried out by a trained and, most importantly, insured nail technician.

I actually have a home gel manicure kit at home, and whilst I’m no means qualified I actually think I do a decent job- as good as I get in salons for a fraction of the cost! I think the necessity is to invest in a decent lamp and gel kit to start with- I have the Red Carpet Nails kit- and that’s half the battle.

I’ve been waiting for someone to review this! I was in Boots yesterday and saw the ‘Polar Bare’ colour which seemed to be a lovely neutral pink with shimmer, I was going to pick it up to use with a gel kit I already have- so glad I didn’t buy it though! Id recommend the Red Carpet Nails kit though!

I’ve tried to love the fuse line, its so good for on the go, but I have never had it on for more than 2 days, I find it just peeled off despite filing the surface of my nails, I was so disappointed!

i just used it today for the first time. I really like it. I have a nice shine, too. My brush was fine, application was fine with no problems. I guess the next few days will tell how well it lasts.
