George Stay Put Lipgloss

IMG_2521L-R – Sweetheart, Pink Posy, Holly, Valentine, Creme Brulee

Ive had these for a month or so and my first impression was very much positive so when I came to photograph each colour for this post I assumed I would be singing the praises of the entire line but ALAS as with almost every lipstick range there’s good and bad.. they’re not all good, in fact most are not great.

The one consistent feature of these lip glosses is that they’re long lasting but bizarrely once they’ve set they’re not glossy at all. They’re really liquid lipsticks which I think have been marketed incorrectly. They dry to a matte finish and really last well but to get the best colour and finish I recommend using a base colour or better still a lip liner to fill in your lips before using one of these to top it off. The bolder shades, Sweetheart and Holly although better than the others still benefit from this extra step so for the sheerer, streakier colours it’s pretty much essential.

Definitely worth a shot at the brights and maybe the Creme Brulee shade if you just want a hint of shimmery nude that wont fade too fast but overall disappointing. You could definitely spend your £3.75 – link – better elsewhere

I’ve never had a good experience with George make-up, it’s such a shame! The colours always look so pretty but they have zero staying power, the same went for their nail varnishes too! Sorely disappointed!

A shame that you weren’t impressed with these, as the shades look really pretty. x

I haven’t have good experiences with george makeups either, but mostly the eyeshadow they just seem to slip straight off me even with primer so I’ve steered clear. Having said that these colours look great and I kinda like the idea of a slightly matte finish but I think thats just personal preference! x

I haven’t tried anything from the Asda makeup line for a while but the shade ‘holly’ looks really pretty ! Too bad the actual formula isn’t too good

I am tempted by some of those colours. I may give one a try just to see whether I might get on with them anyway!

Still think I may have to give these a go, Pink Posy is just too tempting, such a beautiful shade!
