Ghost Cupcakes

I was looking online a few weeks ago for Halloween sweet treat ideas and as soon as I saw these I knew I had to try them. There were other versions made with a pile of piped icing which I thought looked too difficult (but I may have to try at some point) so I plumped for the rolled icing version and of course had to film the process (at the end of the post) to show you that if I can do it.. anyone can!

The above step by step is fairly self explanatory but the crux of the whole operation is a lollipop! You basically make a regular cupcake, stick a lollipop in and drape the icing over the top to create the ghost. I decided to ice my cakes with chocolate frosting but that was potentially messy so next time I will use a white icing or leave them plain – simpler still! For the eyes I used chocolate chips but you could use a food colouring pen or even black icing.. whatever you prefer.

Draping the icing was a little tricky at first but it gets easier with practice and overall this is very effective but really not that difficult.

    These cakes look awesome. Could you leave the recipe for the Hun mixture, because whenever I’ve made cupcakes they’ve not turned out so well x
