Gold Leaf Nails

IMG_8608

Today I have a bit of a festive nail post for you.. or at least I think so. Red and gold is kind of the epitome of Christmas, is it not? That being said I actually don’t use either colour when decorating my home so maybe I’m more traditional when it comes to beauty than my house, haha. Anywho I think this would be a lovely combo for party time or even Christmas day as it’s understated but has an almost muted sparkle effect, great if you want something a bit special but don’t have time to be fiddling with nail art.

*What I Used*

Red Me The News as a base coat and Top Of The Gold Top Coat

This really is such a pretty top coat, the glitter is like flecks of gold leaf rather than your regular uniform chunks and reminds me of those gemstone formulas, it reflects light in a similar way as as such was quite difficult to photograph. It almost creates a blurred effect and gives so much more depth, the gold appears to be in different layers almost, do you see what I mean? I just love it! I will be wearing this a lot over different colour this holiday season.

I’m not sure whether this would be a polish I used all the time or one of the select few I reserve for the late winter months.. I suspect the latter. Are there any polishes you keep just for Christmas? Off the top of my head Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle is one of mine.

This is so pretty! And definitely perfect for the festive season. I don’t really have any Wintry shades but lots of summer-only ones!
