I am totally reusing this title, I know it but I couldn’t resist. I recently spotted some Sally Hansen nail strips in my local discount makeup store for just £1.99 a pack – I found an online alternative for the same price here – so obviously I came home with few to test out. Historically I’ve found nail strips to be hit and miss between application and wear time.. some are two thick and lift/peel away easily and others are so thin they’re difficult to apply evenly.. all are easy to remove which is the main thing that appeals to me. They’re instantly dry so no waiting time there but slower to apply than regular polish.. swings and roundabouts. I do like that you can carry these with you and use them on the go though, I’m thinking trains planes and automobiles without offending everyone around you with a potent polish smell in a confined space. Another great benefit to nail strips is design.. I had so many people question be about my nails while I was wearing these.. I’d never have the patience for this kind of nail art but at a glance it might have looked like I did.
This particular set fell in to the super thin and tough to apply evenly category but with a little practice they can look really, really good. The wear time was excellent, in fact I only took them off because I had a new colour I wanted to try however unlike any other I’ve used these had to be removed with polish remover. That was a bit of a pain and I’m now not so much looking forward to the glitter ones I bought but these were pretty quick to get off so we’ll see. They’re definitely not stickers, more like actual nail polish strips (which most claim to be but aren’t) so if you have been put off by the thick sticker type strips in the past these are a totally different animal. They should be considerably more expensive so it makes sense that they should be better than your average but I personally wouldn’t pay 8 quid for a one use product like this unless it was for a super special event. You can almost get 2 uses from one pack if you get creative and if you used them for accent nails with regular polish on the rest then you’d get more bang for your buck but for £1.99 I’d highly recommend you give them a go!
