Healthy Eating For Lazy Girls

As promised here is my healthy yet convenient meal for those of you lazy girls out there trying to eat better or drop a few lb’s. This requires absolutely no prep but feels so deliciously fresh and FYI.. filling! The main components here are these Birds Eye Field Fresh ‘single steamers’ and Rice Infusions. The little packets of frozen veg are perfect for weekday meals when you just can’t be bothered to cook after work, they’re an extra boost of greens with zero effort to help bulk out your evening meal, they’re always fresh and just being honest, without them I just wouldn’t bother with veg! The second thing I love about them is that they come in individual portions so if you’re cooking for more than one person you don’t all have to have the same, I like the Tender Green Medley whereas Lee prefers the Sunshine mix.. another bonus just sitting there in the freezer a few minutes away from ready at any given time.

The rice infusions are equally as exciting and come in various flavours.. thought I prefer the Mexican (Mediterranean wasn’t my favourite). It’s a decent portion, very tasty and filling and really I could probably do without the meat altogether but in the interest of creating a balanced meal I’ll keep it in and just FYI tuna steaks work just as well with this as chicken and you can buy those frozen meaning you could have an entire meal waiting for you in your freezer which has never even seen a breadcrumb and isn’t a pizza

I go through phases with eating and I’m picky so it’s not like I can just pick up any pre-packed salad, I have to put the effort in to eating healthily but over the next couple of months I will share with you some of my favourite low-cal meals (and some not so low-cal sweet treats hehe) and hopefully I can find some other super convenient alternatives to ready meals.

For anyone wondering the Weight Watcher Pro Points values for this are as follows: Birds Eye Mexican Rice: 6, Birds Eye Field Fresh steamers: 1, Chicken Breast (this is actually steak but that’s the closest I could find): 4 making this entire meal 11 points and let me tell you, you are not going to feel hungry. I’m quite happy spending 11 of my 26 on this.

    I always keep the rice infusions in my freezer, i just have the golden vegetable one but i normally add some other vegetables in with them, i love having one with a steamed smoked haddock fillet flaked into it 🙂 xxx
