Home Office Dreams

IMG_3982I already have a version of a home office (maybe I’ll do a post when I’m done) however because of the nature of my ‘work’ it’s forever clogged up with beauty products and cardboard boxes. I’m happy with the overall layout, I’ve just moved things around and I feel like it works better for me now but there’s still the issue of stuff. everywhere. The stuff is usually categorised in boxes scattered around the room but the procrastinator in me 1. doesn’t always take photos/trial things as quickly as I could and 2. doesn’t want to put things away once I HAVE taken photos for the blog. I’m thinking a filing cabinet may be the way forward. I have my eye on this Erik from Ikea as it’s not huge but it’s big enough to act as my ‘in tray’ and it’s white so will go with the bulk of my furniture. My second issue is lighting. As this time of year filming/taking photos in natural light is near impossible, even in the day the light is poor and what good light I have lasts about 45 minutes so unless I’m free at exactly that time and spot that it IS that time I’m screwed. I have a light box that I like to have up and ready for when I need it because again the procrastinator needs things to be quick and easy or she will build up a task and never want to do it. The box is an awkward shape and now I reside in my front room I’d rather not have my postman asking questions so my second project is potentially putting up a curtain in one of the alcoves to hide it behind.. I’m not 100% sure whether the space would be big enough but if it is I think that would be perfect. Here’s what I’m looking at – tension rods (2 pack and I happen to have 2 alcoves so I might use them both) ans some plain white curtains. I’m forced tp live with the awkward dark wood fireplace (we rent our house) so that will forever annoy me  but in the meantime I can hopefully fix some of the other issues.. expect a full post if it pans out!

PS. Yes, that is a beer on my desk. Let’s be real folks, I’m writing this at 8pm and it’s been a long day 😉 #whatbloggersdonttellyouishtheyrealldrunkallthetime
