Over the next fortnight you’re going to be seeing quite a bit of underwear on my blog but don’t panic I’m not getting my kit off this time! When Wonderbra contacted my last month asking if I’d be interested in reviewing their new bra’s to promote their Haul Of Fame contest (read on) I was understandably skeptical. Bloggers and YouTubers get some ‘funny’ requests at times but once I’d verified that the sender was indeed who they said they were I was more than a little excited. I’ve never considered myself blessed in the bust department and with each child I’ve lost some oomph, at 26 years old I’m not ready to resign myself to comfy Sloggi cropped tops and baggy jumpers, I’m young and I still want to show it off once in a while! I’m big on shapewear and understand the importance of a good bra but I know there are countless women out there that are not only wearing the wrong size but the wrong shape for them.
Enter Wonderbra.. the Haul Of Fame contest aims to draw attention to the importance of choosing the correct style by asking every girl to upload a photo of herself in her favourite outfit wearing a Wonderbra. Now I realise anything including the words bra, photo and upload may appear seedy but it’s really not. Girls upload an average of 10 photos to facebook after a night out, why not upload one to Wonderbra’s page and be in with a chance of winning a £1000 shopping spree?
I will be reviewing 4 bra’s over the next two weeks. I wasn’t sure where to start and was going to save the best til last but at the last minute decided to start with it instead. At the end of the day if you read this first post and decide the remainder aren’t for you I would prefer to have told you about something I think every woman needs in her underwear drawer before I lose you to lipstick and blush.
The Ultimate Strapless – available here from £34.00
I have lost count of the amount of boob tubes and bustiers that have hung unworn in my closet because I have little hold them up with naturally and any strapless bra I owned was fairly pointless (no pun intended) when it came to support/lift. They sag and roll at the underwire giving a less than seamless shape and when you add padding or gel that just adds to the problem with extra weight pulling down on an already unstable structure. I’ve spent a lot of money trying to find the bra that goes with everything so am over the moon to finally have this in my posession. I’d seen the pictures above and thought I had an idea of what it would be like but it’s like no other bra I’ve worn. The sides are solid and the ‘underwire’ is about an inch thick which not only holds everything up but it flattens that stubborn bulge you normally get underneath the cups.. c’mon.. I know I’m not the only one! The ‘hand support’ logo is pretty spot on too as that’s exactly what it feels like when it’s on, they didn’t budget all day. I’m a modest C cup so I can’t vouch for the larger ladies but I wore this baby to the gym and it gave me more support than my regular sports bra. I will say this, by the end of the day it had left marks where it had been digging in, however it was completely comfortable, it didn’t feel too tight and it’s not something I’d need to wear everyday, it will be whipped out for those occasions when everything needs to stay in place.. not something I worry about at work in an office.
Lastly Wonderbra have recently launched a Decoder app which in truth looks like a teenage boys fantasy if you watch the video below but could be useful if you’re unsure as to what bra to wear with what outfit. I will be going in to a little more depth on that over the next 3 posts but for now enjoy this video.. gave me a giggle! You can download the app free form the App Store now.
PS. I don’t think Wonderbra have launched their facebook contest yet but keep a look out and I will let you know some more info on that in the next post!
