How To Wonderbra – Ultimate Strapless

Over the next fortnight you’re going to be seeing quite a bit of underwear on my blog but don’t panic I’m not getting my kit off this time! When Wonderbra contacted my last month asking if I’d be interested in reviewing their new bra’s to promote their Haul Of Fame contest (read on) I was understandably skeptical. Bloggers and YouTubers get some ‘funny’ requests at times but once I’d verified that the sender was indeed who they said they were I was more than a little excited. I’ve never considered myself blessed in the bust department and with each child I’ve lost some oomph, at 26 years old I’m not ready to resign myself to comfy Sloggi cropped tops and baggy jumpers, I’m young and I still want to show it off once in a while! I’m big on shapewear and understand the importance of a good bra but I know there are countless women out there that are not only wearing the wrong size but the wrong shape for them.

Enter Wonderbra.. the Haul Of Fame contest aims to draw attention to the importance of choosing the correct style by asking every girl to upload a photo of herself in her favourite outfit wearing a Wonderbra. Now I realise anything including the words bra, photo and upload may appear seedy but it’s really not. Girls upload an average of 10 photos to facebook after a night out, why not upload one to Wonderbra’s page and be in with a chance of winning a £1000 shopping spree?

I will be reviewing 4 bra’s over the next two weeks. I wasn’t sure where to start and was going to save the best til last but at the last minute decided to start with it instead. At the end of the day if you read this first post and decide the remainder aren’t for you I would prefer to have told you about something I think every woman needs in her underwear drawer before I lose you to lipstick and blush.

The Ultimate Strapless – available here from £34.00

I have lost count of the amount of boob tubes and bustiers that have hung unworn in my closet because I have little hold them up with naturally and any strapless bra I owned was fairly pointless (no pun intended) when it came to support/lift. They sag and roll at the underwire giving a less than seamless shape and when you add padding or gel that just adds to the problem with extra weight pulling down on an already unstable structure. I’ve spent a lot of money trying to find the bra that goes with everything so am over the moon to finally have this in my posession. I’d seen the pictures above and thought I had an idea of what it would be like but it’s like no other bra I’ve worn. The sides are solid and the ‘underwire’ is about an inch thick which not only holds everything up but it flattens that stubborn bulge you normally get underneath the cups.. c’mon.. I know I’m not the only one! The ‘hand support’ logo is pretty spot on too as that’s exactly what it feels like when it’s on, they didn’t budget all day. I’m a modest C cup so I can’t vouch for the larger ladies but I wore this baby to the gym and it gave me more support than my regular sports bra. I will say this, by the end of the day it had left marks where it had been digging in, however it was completely comfortable, it didn’t feel too tight and it’s not something I’d need to wear everyday, it will be whipped out for those occasions when everything needs to stay in place.. not something I worry about at work in an office.

Lastly Wonderbra have recently launched a Decoder app which in truth looks like a teenage boys fantasy if you watch the video below but could be useful if you’re unsure as to what bra to wear with what outfit. I will be going in to a little more depth on that over the next 3 posts but for now enjoy this video.. gave me a giggle! You can download the app free form the App Store now.

PS. I don’t think Wonderbra have launched their facebook contest yet but keep a look out and I will let you know some more info on that in the next post!

I love love love the thought of a wonder bra and as I’m currently on the market for a very supportive strapless bra I for my wedding day I may have to give this a try. Do the sizes go up high as I’m very ‘blessed’ in the chest department (although I would class it more as a pain than a blessing) … None of my local bra shops carry my size 🙁
    Ps loving the new header!!

I have a few already but this strapless thing is seriously out of this world! I would whole heartedly recommend it for your wedding and they go up to a G I believe. Oh and thanks!! It’s not totally finished yet but I love it too x

Oh yes, that bra is incredible – my ex used to get quite offended that it elicited more spontaneous declarations of love from me than he did!

I’ve just started on a mini mission to do more lingerie-related posts myself – New Look have an amazing strapless push-up bra in atm too

I also love the ultimate strapless, it’s the only strapless bra I’ve ever liked! I’m a weird size (small back, large cup) but their size range is really good. I’d recommend trying it on first as I find it runs small in the back (which is good as I’m actually a 28 back but their 30 fits me).

From the budget point of view, keep an eye out for Debenhams 20% of lingerie sales as that’s when I picked up mine.

I’m wearing it right now and it’s like it’s not even on, it’s so comfortable.. I put that down to the wide underwire part. If it didn’t leave those marks I’d wear it every day I really would lol.. but they were a bit concerning and wouldn’t want them permanently. x

I have this bra and i’m a 34E. I’ve also had a little boy… however this bra does a FANTASTIC job. My boobs look amazing in it. Can not recommend it more. I’m so pleased to see you reviewing it. X

well we girls need as much help as we can looking as good as possible and underwear definitely plays a big part in that department

I’ve looked everywhere for YEARS for a decent fitting strapless bra but didn’t realise they went up to a 34E otherwise I would have tried this one before!
I can see from the comment above though that I am clearly wrong, and this bra looks gorgeous too!

I have this and I am blessed with a larger bussom. This is the first strapless bra that has ever managed to keep them up! They do look like they may fall out but nope, they stayed in place all night through dancing and everything.

I got mine from Cheshire Oaks which is an outlet village, I think it was nearer the £24 mark. So worth a trip if you are local and on the 13th December the coca cola van is going to be there!!! I am not excited at all… X
