I’ve posted a lot on instagram and twitter in the past week about my new hair colour so I thought I’d give it a little outing on my blog. It was a totally spur of the moment decision, Milo was actually napping for the first time in forever and I wasn’t in the mood to film but I wanted to use the time. I’d been considering putting some colour in my ends since I saw how gorgeous Sams – WhenFlowersFall.co.uk – looked and I had some colour in and just did it. I initially just did the blue in the very ends and a little diluted (mixed with conditioner) purple to blend it but I decided to go bolder last night and this is the result. If you’re a long time reader you’ll know that crazy colour is nothing new here but this is probably the craziest I’ve had my hair in quite some time.. I wasn’t entirely expecting it to be this bright and although I love it right now I am concerned about how it will fade. I’ve never had major issues with that in the past but at some point I will get bored and want to get back to the colour I was (the colours are only temporary but I know they can stain bleached hair) so if any of you have any good removal tips for when the time comes, send them my way! For now I’m having fun playing with brighter makeup, blue eyeliner and struggling with my grey wardrobe.
The colours I used were Violette from Crazy Colors (the blue) and Carnation Pink from Directions mixed with a little of the Viloette and some conditioner (probably 1 part conditioner to 2 parts colour mix) for the pinky purple all over

PS. When I put my hair up my husband tells me I look like My Little Pony – win!
This looks amazing on you! I love the blue and purple together π As for colour removal, you could try Colour B4 but it doesn’t smell very nice. Washing up liquid helps fade colour too! x

I’m not sure it’s awesome with crazy colours but I will give it ago as and when
Oo that looks lovely! I’ve found Violette to last really well in my hair, hopefully it’ll last just as well for you π

I’ve used it on my hair before just don’t remember whether I used it full strength or diluted
Aw wow I love it!!
It really suits you π purple is my favourite colour so if I was brave enough, I’d probably do something similar to this to my own hair π

Aww I love it!! You look amazing! Goes really well with that lip colour too. I wish my work would let me do what I want with my hair π I miss being oragne, red and purple (not at the same time!) xx

It really does suit you, I wish I could go back to bright shades but it never comes out as good as yours has x
It looks great on you!
I used to have plum hair for a year or so but I’ve gone back natural now π

That’s amazing! I’m so jealous, I miss my purple hair (and pink) so so much but I keep feeling like I should stay sensible so that I don’t have to worry about clashing and the likes.
When they fade they might go to a pastel colour (totally in trend!) I used to love mine when it faded, lilac colour, I had sooo many compliments when it went all pastel lilac!!
Oh I want purple hair again

Aww your hair looks gorgeous! π
Like you I’m totally obsessed with having crazy colors in my hair, the best thing I’ve found for fading colors in medicated dandruff shampoos like Vosene π the purple looks beautiful! π xxx
These colours are amazing and it looks incredible on you! I love how bold the look is as well and I think it’s only going to look better as it fades out π xx

purple will fade out and brighten your blonde. sadly the blue will most likely stain. no matter what hue used i can’t shift this blue. using the bleach London shampoo has helped but the blue is skill there. good luck x

did you use bleach london colour that stained? There have been SO many bad reviews of that particular brand for their greens and blue staining hair .. I’ve used this blue before and it did fade but we shall see
Wow what a change! Looks really nice though! You have more guts than I do!

They just recently came out with a new Colour B4 made specifically for crazy colours. Or failing that there’s always vitamin c powder mixed with an anti dandruff shampoo π

I’m going to have to look for some reviews of the new colour before.. I know the lavender colour will fade but luckily the blue is just the ends so I can have a trim if it doesn’t shift lol
This really suits you ! You look lovely !!! π
In my experience after a while you may find the blue will fade first and go to a washed out blue which will then turn to a washed out green, but your probs top it up by the time it gets to that.
When it comes to removing. I always say to my clients let it fade as much as you can on its own, until it’s driving you up the wall. Dare I even recommend this (Hairdressing world cover your eyes! Lol)
Use a little bit of washing up liquid on them areas.
Gently rub.
Leave in a towel
To pass the time do some washing up – 5 -10 mins
Rinse off, (Best to do this a couple of times if you can)
Shampoo and Condition
Treat your poor locks with a must needed treatment! (Your hair will be feeling extremely dry!)
If you donβt want to use something as harsh as washing up liquid, Head and Shoulders or a supermarket own brand will do trick !
I would then follow with an appointment for a quick trim
If thereβs still a large amount in there, I would suggest getting a professional to lightly bleach your ends and a toner.
Hope this helps !

so thorough, thanks so much for the advice x
wow it’s so nice, it suits you a lot π How many washes will it last before you have to touch it up? I was thinking about going pink and don’t know what brand to use! xx
It’s stunning (and yes, very My Little Pony!) I’m a bit too old to get away with a whole head like this, so I’ve been making the most of my wisdom wings (greying temples) and using hot pink chalk on them, which sets off the rest (bright red) really nicely. So there *is* something positive about going grey! <3
Love it Khila! Colour B4 is definitely the best option if it comes down to it. I had a turquoise dip dye on bleached ends using a mix of crazy colours and directions. The colour b4 took it out completely with no tinge left xx
Love this … Very nice
I hope you film a video with this hair! It looks gorgeous on you. I want to dye my hair a crazy colour but don’t want to bleach my hair first as its so dark π Dilemmas, dilemmas.

You look absolutely gorgeous with your new hair. It kind of reminds me of a sort of ombre hair colour that i was planning to have before chickening out! This has inspired me to take the plunge and go for it! Thanks!
Keep blogging! xx
Your hair looks amazing!! Xx

I wish I could pull that off, but I’m so pale I would look like an alien. You, on the other hand, rock them!
I love the blue ends, I’d be so tempted to do my whole head that colour, I would if I could guarantee it would return to the colour I got now but because my hair is very bleached I’m always scared it will stain in some way x x
