John Frieda – Full Repair

A while ago (and I’m talking months) I was contacted by the lovely John Frieda PR peeps who wanted to know if I was interested in trying the full repair range. Having absolutely loved their go blonder line I obviously said yes but it wasn’t until last week I actually received the products. Now for those of you that have been reading for a while you’ll know that in that time I’ve had two rather drastic hair cuts due to an at home straightening kit that ruined my hair so although I’m excited to try these products I can’t give them the same kind of review I would have been able to before I went for the chop. Most of the damage I had has been cut out and the hair I’m left with is in pretty good nick but I do still have some frizzy, dry areas and I’m hoping this line will help smooth them back in to a sleek bob. Another point to mention is that I plan to go a few shades lighter this week, since my hair is so short I feel like it needs something a bit POW to make it interesting, y’know what I mean? Although I wont be using peroxide any home colourant that lifts your hair contains it so it’s bound to leave a little damage to ‘repair’. I’ll be posting on these products individually but first I just wanted to introduce you to the range if you haven’t seen it already and share one of their YouTube hair tutorials! I’m all about pinning and volume now since I can’t get a big bouncy blow dry so I will be attempting a modified version of this next time I’m going out.

Have you tried anything from the Full Repair range yet?

haha.. that does make a difference to how you feel about something! The Naked range I’m using at the moment I love but it’s so herbal.. like Liz earle, I love both but just cannot get on board with the smell!

After I bleached & fried my hair had a good 6inchs cut off i invested in this. It was amazing the first 2 weeks of using it, 4 weeks later my hair is once again dry & snapping. I use the shampoo, deep conditioner & deep infusion thing
I now have to alternate my shampoo to get the full effect. Not a miracle in a bottle. Nice for 2 weeks then the brilliant “repair” ends. Also I’ve not dyed my hair or done anything else to it while using this.

My sister-in-law had the same reaction to the Miraculous Recovery mask. Must put some research into why this happened. Does she have coarse hair by any chance? She seems to struggle with everything because of her hair type.

I have heard that your hair can get used to certain products so perhaps that’s what happened. You’re supposed to switch out your shampoo & Conditioner every once in a while to get the full effect but 2 weeks seems a bit crazy! Having just gone through a similar situation to you with my hair I would absolutely recommend the hair mask from Naked.. best thing I’ve ever ever used!

I went through a stage of using a naked shampoo and conditioner but I am getting into silicone free co-washing and really like the tresemme naturals conditioner for that. Before I started I clarified my hair with tresemme vitamin c shampoo and my hair has never looked so shiny and healthy.

I’m so disappointed as I had high hopes for it but I guess i will just have to let it grow out which will take ages! Yeah I now wake up with an Afro of frizzy and dry knotted hair and thats when ive used this product. Don’t get me wrong it would work for you if your hair is stressed or needs tlc after a sunny holiday but it won’t fix fried hair 🙁 I will give naked a go! Khila I hope this works for you and anyone else past the 2/3 week mark.

I absolutely “LOVE” the Deep conditioner pot! I highly recommend using it for bleached, fried hair, I use it all the time and I’ve bleached my hair soooo much to get it white so I can apply pink dye to it, The deep conditioner masque always makes my hair feel soft and smooth after I’ve bleached it and with none of that after product feel that gets left in your hair with some of the other deep conditioners that I’ve tried in the past. Hope you enjoy the John Frieda Full Repair treatments and I hope they work for you x

I was tempted to try these but haven’t had good enough results with john freida in the past, i don’t find their products moisturising enough. About 4 months ago i bleached my hair 8 times in one night to get it from dark red to blonde, looked amazing but was obv damaged, it is now back to normal with just a few trims but i used the l’oreal elvive for coloured hair and i love the pantene deep conditioner for coloured hair, it takes 2mins once a week in the shower and my hair is perfect again (and light brown now as im terrible for colouring and always have to change) xxx

Im so tempted to go red again in winter but i know what a hassle it will be come next year when i want it lighter again so im trying to resist but the schwarzkopf salon style intense red seems very appealing and its only £3.99 at superdrug at the moment
