Kourtney’s Kardazzle

I did promise a review of each of the KHROMA beauty palettes I received so here is the first, the Kourtney Kardazzle (I just cannot take that name seriously). It’s one of 3 available and is the warmest with a selection of neutrals and berry shades. Kim’s is cool and smokey and Khloe’s more bronze and natural. This would be a great selection for someone wanting to branch out in to colour but scared to stray too far from their ‘Naked Palette’. Within the kit you have 4 matte shadows, 4 shimmery shadows and 3 face powders.

First the shadow swatches. I used a primer underneath these so the fact that the first two matte shades are barely detectable is pretty poor but I will say that the darker two actually translate a lot better on the eyes that they appear here. The shimmery shades are beautiful, a little sheer and the do require a heavy application to really get the same kind of impact on the eyes but very nice none the less. Quality wise they remind me a lot of the MUA shadows but then you’re paying considerably more for these.

The face powders I believe are supposed to be a blush, a highlight and a bronzer but in this set the bronzer is a little pink for my taste. It’s sheer and I will wear it as a cheenk colour but I wouldn’t want to be applying it anywhere else on my face. The blush shade reminds me a lot of Desert Rose from MAC – for those who watched my first impressions I said it was Plum Foolery but have since realised my mistake. It had great payoff and would work on a lot of skin tones. The highlights is very golden and again a little too much for me but it does give a beautiful finish. They’re all lovely to apply but should be done so with a light hand as a little goes a very long way for me.

Overall between the shades swatched and seeing them on my face above I’ve decided this is put together for darker skin tones than mine. I would imagine Khloe’s Kardazzle would suit me more, I love these warmer shades but the cheek products are bold for a pale girl like me but if I was super tanned perhaps I’d revisit. I do however really like the set up of these palettes, they’re super compact, the mirror is a good size and if you’re happy with all of the products I think it’s perfect for travel. I think I will be purchasing the Khloe version for just that!

Have you tried anything from the KHROMA range yet?

What annoys me with Khroma is exactly what you said in your video. Looking at the packaging close up this could easily be something from some cheap shop who are doing a cheap eye palette not something from the debut cosmetics line from the most glam sisters in the public eye at the minute.
