This is definitely something I would never have picked up, that’s not say I don’t like it but Laura Mercier lipsticks just never seemed very exciting. A lot of higher end products have packaging that appeals, gold, glossy, super slick.. this is a bit boring by comparison and unlike MAC (who also have pretty basic, plain tubes) there are no unique colours etc to draw me in. It was all a bit blah. Packaging aside (lets face it that’s often all that sets a more expensive product apart from a cheaper one so it does matter) the formular is pretty nice. It’s creamy and very comfortable on the lips, enriched with vitamin e it does actually do some good while you’re wearing it.
Unfortunately as I find with most creamy lipsticks it doesn’t last long and doesn’t entirely adhere to my lips as seen in the above pictures. Unless your lips are bone dry it just doesn’t transfer at all. It will likely suit those of you who HATE matte lipsticks as it’s really balmy in texture but much as I love that and the colour the finish and wear time are more important for me. I might wear this over the top of a long wear stain.
Available online here for £21.00 (but I would likely spend that £21 on something else)
