I saw this dress* at an event for the Myleene Klass clothing range a couple of months ago and fell in love with it. She was actually wearing a floral version and it obviously looked beautiful on her but I thought the black may be a better fit for me. I read some reviews re the sizing that led me to believe it may run a little big but I’m a 10/12 and a 12 is perfect, the waist is higher than your average which is also great for me since my body is shorter than your average. It causes me MUCH trouble when clothes shopping actually so this feels like it was made for me. I haven’t had an occasion to wear it yet but since it’s last season and currently on sale I thought I’d better get up a post on it while 1. you can still buy it and 2. it’s still party season.
There’s a mesh underskirt which gives it great volume and shape but also makes me feel a little like a princess. Despite 2 weddings I never did do the big prom-style dress so any excuse these days and I’m all over it. There’s a bow in the back that I’m not totally in love with, it’s pretty but I think a little young for me. Luckily it’s easily removed as it’s only loosely attached however I thought I’d show you it in it’s raw state as it’s a cute feature if you’re into that kind of thing. Without it’s a super flattering LBD that feels really well made and will live in my wardrobe as long as it fits (and knowing me, longer) and once I’ve snipped off that bow I’ll even be able to wear it with a blazer in a more formal setting. A really unexpected piece from a range you wouldn’t expect all that much from. The shoes are Primark (absolutely amazing but those ankle straps hurt like hell.. here’s a similar pair that look more comfortable.. and the purse is from Kate Spade, a gift from the Vegas outlet mall my friend Caz visited earlier this year. I already can’t wait to get there in March!!!
