L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color in Dancing Rose

loreal dancing rose 2

Another lip post today, too much? Well there’s just the one swatch today instead of 7, don’t worry. This is another product I picked up in New York however the range is now readily available in the UK and I wanted to wait until everyone could get their hands on it to let you know my thoughts. Initially I was disappointed because something told me this was a stain when in fact it’s a liquid lipstick.. I’m not sure I’d have bought it had I known. I’m not a huge gloss gal, they’re messy and as I hammered home yesterday I prefer a more smudge proof matte pout. It’s really only the glossy stains that have turned me of late because they don’t budget but still give that shine.. this is not that. So bare in mind I was already a bit meh about this once I realised it wasn’t what I thought it was.. I tried it and pretty much wrote it off immediately as a streaky opaque gloss. I said as much when I filmed my haul video and put it away intending never to bring it out again but my friend came over and found it when she was rummaging through my stash and wanted to try it. It looked SO good on her that I had to give it another go and I have to say.. it’s really quite nice. I think my initial disappointment teamed with the harsh hotel bathroom lighting under which I tried it on totally clouded my objectivity and I’m so pleased that my friend pulled it out because I’m now considering picking up some more.

The formula is not at all sticky, it’s more on a translucent colour than opaque and full of sparkle to give that plumped up illusion.. for a gloss they are very nice. As I said I’m not a huge fan of gloss.. it gets in your hair and all over your face but if I was to wear one (with my hair up of course) it would be something from this new range, I will be looking for another, bolder colour soon.. suggestions welcome!

I have a few of these and was pleasantly surprised as well. They smell like sweet peach tea to me. This color is absolutely stunning. I love my Rose Melody, which is a lighter more neutral rose color for everyday but I may have to try this color. 🙂 Thanks for posting about it!

That is a pretty color. I was concerned that these would be too sticky.

I love these! I have 3 of the nude / more natural shades which are perfect in the day. They have more of a gel feel than a gloss which does stay on your lips longer. I really love the smell too peach/passion fruit – really fresh rather than synthetic!

Looks lovely and the glitter is quite subtle yet effective. I think that the packaging is a little deceptive because it looks like more like a lipstick / stain rather than a regular lip gloss! All in all, it does look like a nice product and the less sticky, the better!

I really like the look of these and apparently, they’re just like the new glosses from Lancome, but like you, I just don’t like glosses and really couldn’t see myself wearing them.
