L’Oreal Shine Blonde Brightening Shampoo

L'Oreal Brightening Blonde Toner Shampoo Before:After

I should take before and after pictures more often because I would have SWORN this product did absolutely nothing for my hair when in fact the pictures tell quite another story. Blonde hair is hard work, constant upkeep, expensive salon appointments.. I have tried too many blue shampoos and toners to mention but when this was on sale at Feel Unique a few weeks ago I decided to give it a go. I’d heard good things about the L’Oreal blue shampoo but I’ve since learned this is not the one people rave about.. it’s okay but not the uber special one apparently.. so now that’s on my list.

I’m usually a Touch Of Silver girl but that tends to dry out my hair, I don’t love the smell and this time around I’ve been treating my hair to some more expensive products so I liked the idea of switching it up with a slightly more pro formula. I will say that the scent of this is considerabley more appealing and it’s much more gentle on my hair but it’s nowhere near as effective. I left this on for an hour.. if I did that with Touch Of Silver Twice Weekly Brightening Shampoo my hair would be blue! This was more effort, I had to wash my hair seperately, leave it in, rinse it out, blah blah blah. I’m a low maintenance gal so it didn’t really suit me as it was but the fact that I didn’t feel it had done anything, I was ready to put it in my ‘drawer of things I’ll use up when I run out of everything else’ until I saw these pictures. I will definitely have to take more time with it but given that I did feel it was kinder to my hair I will keep using this. IMG_0063IMG_0070

I’m not sure I will repurchase when it’s finished.. I have since had some recommendations (Fudge apparently do a good one) that I want to try but I wont be relegating it just yet. I still have my trust Touch Of Silver for those times I need a quick blast of de-brassing but if I have the time to pamper myself this will get an outing. Looking at these pictures makes me desperate for another T-Section of highlights though.. I’m still not rid of the darker dye in the to section and from certain angles my hair appears to be two totally different colours.. I’ve considered the notion it was in my mind but these photos at least told me I wasn’t mad *calls hairdresser*

A couple weeks ago I went blonde ahhh. It was quite brassy and some areas are not quite as blonde as I wish but I ordered Schwarzkopf Blonde me Shampoo and it toned down the bright brassy parts down a lot. So far I have used it once but I can give you an update once I use it more than that 🙂 I also still switch it up with Pantene Pro-V Repair and Protect which really does repair damaged hair at least for me it did. 🙂

I love Daddy O from Lush to stop my blonde going brassy. It’s gentle enough to use every day without giving you a purple rinse and smells like parma violets! What’s not to love!

I’ve heard a lot about that.. I’m not sure I’m sold on having to use a more gentle one with every wash.. I think a prefer a big shot of toner every week or so and a more nourishing regular routine

This has made such a difference, I love how white blonde your hair is after! I used to use John Frieda’s lightening shampoo and conditioner, and their lightening spray, helped me get like three shades lighter 🙂

apparently there’s another more effetive l’oreal one I must try! – also be careful with that spray, it’s still bleach so don’t use it too often.. only use it as often as you’d have highlights etc or you may experience breakage!

Is the L’Oréal Professionnel Série Expert Silver the one everyone recommends? I am also a touch of silver girl but it is drying my hair out a lot at the moment and want to try something different?

You can definitely notice a difference in your before and after photos. I might pick up this as my hairs looking duller than normal lately! xx

Next time can you do side by side of both hair not heat styled. Heat styling usually makes my hair more blonde. Not sure if it makes the change more dramatic in your pictures but im still going to try it out!

the second picture is just a rough blow dry.. no straigtening etc.. obviously the texture in the first photo wont reflect light as well etc but it shouldn’t effect the tone of the hair

The Fudge purple shampoo is beyond words. It’s incredible!

In the second wavy hair photo is that after using the treatment? I think the straightened version looks a bit too white blond whereas in the picture where your hair is wavy the colour looks gorgeous & I don’t think you need to do anything with it (yours was one of the 1st blogs I ever read & I went right back to the start and read most posts so have seen all your hair changes along the way & I think how you have it now is the best it’s ever been) xxx

I think it’s just personal preference and I don’t like too warm a blonde on me unless it’s a bit darker.. I think very blonde colour looks better cooler if you’re pale like I am.. but y’know.. each to there own! My hair has certainly been through the ringer, lol.. I’m back on Wednesday for a touch up and potentially some lowlights – thanks for following for so long 🙂

I think it might look lighter in the after picture, because your hair is straight? xx

That will definitely make a difference but obviously, it will generally look lighter because straight hair reflects light more than wavy/curly hair will but the tone was still improved

Fudge is good but dangerous it can dye your hair purple very quickly xxx
