MAC Bombshell

Mac Bombshell

This was one of those mad impulse purchases.. I was buying something else and you HAVE to order enough for free delivery, right? Well I quickly scrolled through (might have been at work, don’t tell) and picked this based on the vague mid toned pink (how annoying is that at this point? I think I will have to dedicate a post to ‘The Mid Toned Pink’ to get it out of my system once and for all) and the name.. can’t lie, it was 50% name. I really WANTED to love it but once it arrived and I saw it was a frost I realised my mistake.

Why they even still make a frosted finish lipstick I have no idea, I was fairly certain that trend died with the 90s but a quickly google of this shade tells me some people really do love it. Definitely an acquired taste I do not have but I will persevere and see if I can’t find a way to wear it. I suspect a gloss may be involved. I love the colour it’s just the finish.. why? Note to self: ALWAYS google before you buy online!!!

How do you feel about the frost?

I had high hopes when I saw the bullet but I’m with you on the frost finish! I know 90s music has made a comeback but somethings need to stay buried!

I think that it suits you. I’m actually one of those people who love a frosted finish. This lipstick is beautiful and I love the colour. I want this lipstick, in fact I think I NEED this lipstick now.

I’m with you on the frost finish! Would not wear frost if you paid me!

I like the colour but frost lipsticks are so difficult to wear. I only find they work with very subtle eye makeup!

Bombshell is the best name for a lipstick – and I do covet everything MAC. It’s cute – but a little ‘teenage’ if that makes sense. Maybe it’s because I was a teenager in the 90’s – who knows 🙂

I honestly don’t see the difference between frost finishes and lip glosses on top, at least not in this particular lipstick. I think it looks great on you, very cute looking and soft. I think you should keep wearing it, you may come around to it!

Oh god, finally someone feels the same way! I accidentally bought a 17 lipstick in a frosted finish, tried it ans immediately felt less 25 year old, more nanna.

I find I have to google any mac lipstick I’m thinking of buying, the colours on the website don’t seem true to the colour on the lips at all! I’ve been caught out on more than one occasion (I’m looking at you, coral bliss, and sunny seoul!)

Surprisingly, I love the look! I don’t own any frosts, but I love the colour and finish in your photos! – a MAC product I will certainly be checking out!

I hope you can check out my blog?

I agree with you ! i’m not a fan of the frost finish at all, it just does not look nice in my opinion.

I actually got this as a gift and it looks awful on me =/ I’ve tried it in different occasions but there’s no bombshell factor. For having such a raw name as bombshell it doesn’t really give that at all. haha

Ohhh I can’t stand frost either!! Yuck!!

  13. 16 July, 2014 / 8:53 pm

I think it looks beautiful 🙂

    I don’t like frost ones but i like this color ! x

It’s such a lovely colour and it looks great on you! I had to sell mine as I seriously cannot deal with a frost finish. But it’s just so pretty! I’ll probably repurchase when I run out of Mac shades to buy!

I will try and do a follow up and show it mixed with other things, glosses etc
