Makeup Revolution Atomic Lipsticks

IMG_3367Makeup Revolution are defintely not scared to push the colour boundaries and their newest launch is a perfect example of that. I mean GREEN lipstick? Really? I know funky coloured lips have been a rising trend of late but how many of you would REALLY wear that outside of a Halloween party setting? Maybe you would, each to their own and although I don’t think I would I love that it’s out there and available on the high street, it’s making something that would have seemed like total madness a few years ago very mainstream – maybe it will grow on me.

IMG_3376L-R – Ruby, Serpent, Make It Right, Make Me Tonight, Magnificent

Ruby is a gorgeous pinky red, not your average at all.. it has an extra pop to it that makes it feel a little more at home among these less conventional colours. The Purples are beautiful on too.. I actually just took photos for a Halloween look post (up soon) and used a combination of them both and they’re so nice, Magnificent is actually potentially quite a wearable colour, it’s almost metallic, so unusual. Lastly the shade that surprised me the most would have to me Make Me Tonight.. I was convinced this would be a deep plum but it’s more like a sheer black/brown.. a colour I think would look completely amazing on darker skin tones but on me it’s very much a gothic statement lip

Available online here for £1.00 each. Will you be picking any of these up?

I would definitely wear Serpent! Dang, it’s pretty. Looks like it might need building up a little, though?

I wouldn’t wear it all that often, but hell yes with some dark eyes and contoured cheeks? I’m loving all these brands coming out with more affordable and easily available alternative lip colour options (like NYX’s Macaron lipsticks. I have such a wishlist.)

I really like that Make Up Revolution is becoming a drugstore Urban Decay, I work in Superdrug and it’s really fun that we’re getting less stereotypical make-up, definitely gives people more options!

I have to agree about ‘Make Me Tonight’ I was expecting plummy but it goes so dark on the lip. I’m planning on using them for a halloween look too (If I get around to doing one) – I’ve been dared to wear the darker purple by someone over at Makeup Rev when we were discussing these a while back so I guess I have to now haha

I love the colours! Very Lime Crime/Illamasqua ish on a budget. I really fancy grabbing the last 3 when I am next in Superdrug – even though Make Me Tonight is a sheer black/brown I think I could have lots of fun layering it with other lipsticks or glosses. I bought their Iconic 3 Redemption Palette on your recommendation and haven’t been disappointed in the least. Would love to try some of their lipsticks now. Gorgeous makeup and you can’t go wrong at the price point.

I bought them all except Make Me Tonight and can’t wait for them to come. Serpent is right up my alley for something Halloween-y. xx
