Makeup Revolution Blush Sticks

IMG_3639I thought I’d kick off the new month with one of my favourite new launched from LAST month, these Blush Sticks from Makeup Revolution. Now you will probably already know that I’m a huge fan of the brand but cream blushes in general aren’t really my thing. I can appreciate them for what they are and I know a good one when I see one but they’re not something I get excited about. If Makeup Rev had contacted me and asked me if I’ was interested in a sample of these before I saw them I’d have said no.. I think I’ve hammered home my point. I saw them first on Janes blog – link – and couldn’t get over how bold they were, they are more than a little reminiscent of the Nars multiples which I’ve had a few of over the years and I suspect we will see side by side comparisons popping up all over the place before long.

IMG_3640IMG_3644IMG_3646 The blush lasts pretty well for a cream, longer with a top up of a corresponding powder but isn’t that always the case? The formula is honestly nothing special.. it’s basic but it blends nicely.. it’s really the opaque colours and the sleek Nars-esque user friendly packaging that makes me love them.

There are 4 colours in the range, Malibu, Rush, Pink and Dream (in that order in all photos) but there are 2 finishes of each, a matte and a shimmer. I definitely prefer the matte shades but they are so bold you really need just the tiniest amount unless you’re going for something super dramatic. The amount of product you get is insane considering.. I can’t imagine anyone would get through a full one unless it was in a professional kit.. and even then.. they’re BOLD! I can’t see myself reaching for these a lot over the winter months however once summer rolls around again (almost unthinkable right now, I know) I predict fair use of Matte Malibu, Matte Rush and Shimmery Dream.

They look like a fairly good budget alternative to NARS, but I don’t like products like this at all.

These look lovely & I like that each shade comes in a matte & shimmer version. I’ll definitely be picking up the Matte Malibu Blush Stick & try contouring with it. I’ve wanted to get one of the NARS Multiples for this purpose, but couldn’t part with the money incase I didn’t get on with the method! Xx

I’ve just started to dabble in Revolution products and have fallen in love already as they are by far the best value for money. These look amazing and I will be sure to pick these up next as I love a good cream blush!

I’d love to try these. I’m not crazy about cream blushes but I’d rather try these for £5 than the NARS multiple’s and find out that I wasted my money on one of those. I’m really into the pink’sand the coral, not the nude/brown shade. I’m going to buy a couple of these before Christmas.
