Master Of The Unii-verse…al Palette

A little over a year ago I bought two Unii Palettes after seeing rave reviews from US YouTubers. I am a huge lover of custom palettes and as far as I’m concerned this is the best one out there right now. You can read my original ‘first look’ post and see how I filled it here and here. I have loved them and they are absolute staples for travel. They feel so substantial compared to the flimsy alternatives I own, I wouldn’t go on a trip now with anything else – see here.

Way back when I ordered mine they were only available on the US site and shipping wasn’t cheap but I would still talk them up because I really did think they were worth the added expense.. luckily they have just launched here in the UK so delivery is just £2.95 (free for orders over £60). Although the shipping is now more affordable they have kept their bulk buy discounts which I appreciate because I would love to depott everything in to these one day. A few other things have changed since I played my order last year, the palettes themselves have been redesigned, the metal plate has been replaced and the base itself is now magnetic so you no longer need extra magnets to stick in your depotted pans. This does of course pose a problem if you have already added magnets or bought refills from brands like mac where they are already attached. Unii do explain in their FAQs that strong magnets will stick but the likelihood is you will have to remove them to securely house your products. That’s a bit of an issue for me as I preferred the old method.. they used to supply a magnetic sheet that you could cut up and stick on the bottom of your pans.. now if I want to reorganise my palettes I will be stuck with the ones I have in the current non magnetic bases. That was such a long-winded description but you understand my dilemma.

Otherwise I still love Unii as much as I ever did and if you’re new to custom palettes I would recommend these over any others.. they’ve just made it a bit awkward to mix and match if you already have the original or simialr (eg Z-Palette). With the revamp come 6 new colours.. how cute are the corresponding bases? That might be my favourite feature! As well as new thumb grips.. not very exciting but it will fit in a smaller space than the original. Another update is their site.. other than the fact it’s new in the UK they’ve got updated examples of what will fit in the Unii from eyeshadow to brushes – see here.. But quite possibly my favourite new page there is this one – a look inside the filled palettes of girls all around the world whether they be bloggers or beauty lovers (not mutually exclusive) it’s so cool to see how other people have used theirs – for inspiration if nothing else.

The Unii Palette is available here for £15

This new, improved version was sent to me for review but if you value my opinion in the slightest and this kind of thing is on your wishlist I assure you you will not be sorry you bought this. Of all the things “YouTube made me buy” this is one of the best! And I would absolutely repurchase if ever I needed to.

I love the Unii palettes! I’ve used less expensive ones from Etsy, but the Unii is best for travelling. Don’t you just love the massive mirror? I’d say that’s my favourite part of this palette. 😉

I know this is an older post, but please, please help me find the Unii Palette. I’ve been looking, but cannot find anywhere! Is the company still in business? Much thanks in advance.
