Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquers

Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer Clockwise: Vermillion, Twinkling Pink, Patent Poppies, Glazed Cobalt

I am BEYOND impressed with these new polishes from Max Factor. I’m not sure I’ve ever tried any others from this brand so I can’t compare them to older formulas but of all the makeup I own nail polish is my largest single collection, so I like to think I know a thing or two about what’s good/bad brand wise. For the most part I don’t put a tremendous amount of value on formula because I know I will be topping it off with my trusty Seche Vite which gives the best shine and a great chance of chip free colour for at least a couple of days. It’s usually colours that draw my eye and I don’t mind it being less than perfect if the colour is unusual.

These are definitely not unusual, far from it, very basic, almost primary colours but boy do they go on nice. Seriously.. from the first brush stroke I was blown away.. so opaque (PS. I said that aloud and my 2 year old said ‘CAKE?’ – tickled me so I thought I’d share) fast drying and glossy.. just awesome. I still put on my top coat for longevity but they’re pretty good in that department on their own, also no staining from the blue shade which is a huge plus – I HATE stained nails and all out refuse to wear a base coat.. it’s just adding time to a paint job that in truth I would rather spend elsewhere. Overall I’d definitely recommend these, takes a lot to impress me formula wise and much as these colour as basic, they have an edge to them, it’s like the brightness has been kicked up a notch on what would otherwise be very run of the mill colours, The Vermillion is definitely my favourite but the Cobalt Blue has a little place in my heart too.. almost a purple/cornflower.. right up my street.

I do love Max Factor nail varnishes, their gloss finity line was brilliant, I always get a top quality finish and they last a couple of days which is good enough for me! I find 2 coats is enough for a solid colour and they always get lots of compliments! Win!

All those shades are amazing! Really like the Glazed Cobalt, and the fact it doesn’t stain is a huge bonus! x

Ooh I think I may have to get myself a couple of these, they look great, especially if they’re not going to stain my nails!

I bought 2 of these, twinkling pink im wearing right now and sheen merlog i will wear when snow is up 🙂

I tried MF nail polishes, the orginal formula and i will tell you not to buy then, they are neverdrying nailpolishes. I had situation that after 2 hours my nails were wet.

I live in Croatia and we cannot but seche vite (only online from ebay) and i never had use it. I use top coat from Bourjois (1 second gloss, gel silicone texture). This top coat is not that fast drying but he rly make my nails look nice longer then without top coat. More is more, i used 6 bottles of that nail polish. For me the best drugstore topcoat i have ever use.
