Maybelline Brocades – Knitted Gold

IMG_0333

One of my absolute favourite nail polishes and definitely my favourite recent purchase. I have a fair few in my collection but so few really wow me these days, I obviously took a shine to this when I saw it on the stand but it wasn’t until I painted my nails with it that I was really impressed. You can get the effect you see on my nails above from just one bottle of polish in 2 coats or less. The micro iridescent glitter is so jam packed that is creates an opaque base for the chunky, irregular rose gold glitter ‘top coat’ to lay upon. It’s just beautiful and one that I absolutely INSIST that you run out and buy before it disappears.. I would imagine that the Brocades collection is limited edition so anything that appeals is a must buy now. They do a silvery/black version of this I’m tempted by but I know I wont love it as much as this so I may stick with Knitted Gold.

Have you tried this? Back me up, how amazing is it?!?

Available online here £3.99

They do also red and purple ones 🙂 Me & my friend bought them for £1.50 in DM drugstore. They are amazing! xx

I love it but I need to get a better top coat. I don’t know if all top coats are the same but all the ones I’ve used make the polish peel off in one solid piece instead of just chipping a bit. So I have to repaint one or more of my nails everyday because the polish has just come off.

I really love gold nail polish and when I first saw this on your blog I knew I had to try it but I have to say I was bitterly disappointed in it. Three coats and it still didn’t have the kind of full coverage and sparkle I was hopping to get even compared to other drugstore nail polishes.
I am loving Rimmel’s Space Dust polishes they really have some bang and their Diamond Dust is a perfect dup for Nails Inc Sloane Square, no yet has guessed which finger has the Rimmel on it.

I picked this up at the weekend and can’t wait to paint my nails with it for non-uniform day at school on Friday! It’s super Christmassy and I’m thinking of painting my nails red and doing an accent nail with this! x

I blogged about these earlier in the week but only used the Rosy Rosettes red shade so far and I think it’s time to try the gold next.

Have you tried to get it off yet though? I found it a right bugger to remove!
