Pampering is traditionally reserved for the weekends, but actually studies have shown that we look our tiredest mid week, specifically 3:30pm. How they figured that one out is beyond me! That said, Iʼm a firm believer that a little ʻme timeʼ mid week can do wonders for recharging your battery and really helps give you that extra energy boost to reach the weekend.
So… Below Iʼve listed some of my top pick that I bust out for such an occasion that I know get the job done and leave me totally relaxed and unwound.
First up, I begin in the shower with my beloved Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub, I give myself a quick, but thorough scrub down to perk my skin up and encourage blood flow to the surface which in-turn prevents cellulite buildup as well as buffing away at any dry flaky skin I may have. I then wash off the scrub with the Organic Surge Sweet Blossom shower gel which smells refreshing, fruity and light. However any shower gel would do the job fine, its just a matter of preference and what you have at hand, for me I happen to be using this at the moment.
While Iʼm still in the shower I substitute my usual daily cleanser for the Origins Checks and Balances frothy face wash. I reserve this exclusively for such occasions because it can be quite stripping for daily use, but for once in a week itʼs very effective at removing sebum and grim build- up. I use this in conjunction with my Clarisonic Mia.
After I jump out of the bath, I immediately tone my face with the La Roche Posay Serozinc by spraying a few pumps onto a cotton pad and sweeping it over my face. I then proceed to moisturise my body with what is possibly my favourite body butter ever! The Butter Yourself body butter by Soap & Glory. This has quite an impressive ingredients list which to name a few contains: Shea butter, Peppermint oil, Coconut oil, Orange fruit extract and Fig extract. Another great thing about this body butter is that it sinks in really fast which allows me to get into my pyjamas quickly without having to wait around.
Once into my pyjamas and firmly into bed I slather the Origins Drink up Intensive Overnight mask generously on my face to ensure a hydrated and plump face in the morning and follow up on my hands with the LʼOccitane hand cream in lavender which coincidentally it’s aroma aids in sleeping. So to maximise use out of it, after massaging my hands, I cup them together and breath in the scent for a few second before I drift off with a contented grin on my face.
