I’m going to start with a little disclaimer, I don’t actually like cream blush. I wouldn’t have picked this up in a store but it was sent to me for review.. about 2 months ago. I’ll be honest they sat in drawer until last week as I just couldn’t see that I was going to like them purely based on past experience but for some reason I decided to give them ago and y’know what.. they’re not that bad! I have oily skin that gets very shiny as the day goes on and the last thing I was is a sticky cream blush on my cheeks but this is actually remarkably dry. I’m not sure if it’s a result of cost cutting given the brands low budget prices or they’ve actually tried to make this product more usable for those like me but either way it’s the only cream blush I’ve ever (almost) liked.
I’d describe it as more of a cream to powder than any I’ve used before, MAC’s for example is just awful for me, I have one and it’s like putting lip gloss on my cheeks, yeugh! This is a totally different animal and although the pink is a bit much for me (I’ve already re-homed it don’t worry) the peachy shade is right up my street and I’ve actually used it a couple of times – shocker!
The shades I have are Bittersweet (left) and Dolly (right)
They all have a matte finish and the idea is that you can top them off with the corresponding powder blush for a shimmery finish and more staying power. The fact that they have created them to match the original £1 range blushes is a very nice touch I think and I’m planning to buy the dolly powder now as I don’t think I have it.
