I both love and hate blogs at times.. I love that I know what new, awesome items are about to launch but I hate that I can’t buy them yet! This was one such product I couldn’t wait to get my hands on and as soon as I saw them in stock at my local Superdrug I picked this one up. I might have bought more have the stand not been in a bit of a state tester wise and very low on stock.. given that in the UK we do have testers I hate that people open things to test them when testers aren’t available.. just ask! I might open a box to check the product inside but I would never dream of actually swatching a ‘to buy’ product.. but hey.. people! Back to the Power Pout.
It’s the same concept as the Clinique Chubby Stick and the Revlon ‘JBKBS’ in that the packaging is near identical and it’s a twist up chunky pencil but the product inside is a little different. It has that same Revlon-esque minty scent but the formula is much softer and the finish as a result, glossier. I don’t think it’s really a stain either, it doesn’t claim to be but in case you were wondering where the similarities ends.. it’s there. It’s a balm tint which I find to be much more hydtrating that the Kissable Balm Stains but as it wore away it did cling to dry areas of my lips.
The colour is gorgeous, much more payoff than I expected from something called a tint and I just love pencil lip colours for on the go touch ups, I don’t know if it’s just in my mind but they seem easier.. anyone else? Broken Hearted in a raspberry pink with a touch of shimmer that serves to add dimension rather than glitz. Although the pigment is strong it’s not opaque, still a little sheer and very balmy feeling, the shine is nicer here than the Revlon in my opinion but then they are different products.
Overall you’re looking at a hydrating lip colour here, it’s not a chubby stick dupe but it’s nice to see similar products filtering in to the cheaper drugstore brands and who doesn’t love MUA? There are six shades available for £3 each online here or at Superdrug stores.
