Since we don’t get LORAC here in the UK I was especially excited about this recent launch from Makeup Revolution. I’ve had the Pro palette on my wishlist for a while and for comparison purposes I might still pick it up in America next month to show you side by side swatched but for now, this is the closest we can get here.. and it’s not half bad.
You get 16 shadows split by finish, the top 8 are matte and the bottom 8 are shimmers. As with ALL brands (budget or not) the shimmers are slightly creamier and easier to blend BUT you can see from the swatches that even the shimmery shades on the pale end of the spectrum here are a little lacking is pigment. They come off as a subtle sheen on the lid but not much in the way of colour. I don’t really miss them however as the remaining selection is great and the sheerer formulas are good transitional/blending shades. I particularly like the milky, chocolate shades in the middle, lovely for everyday and reminiscent of a couple from MAC I used to wear together religiously – if the names come to me I’ll update! You can get a great variety of looks from this versatile palette and since this was such a success they have also released an Iconic Pro 2 which includes a few more colourful options. Next on my list! Oh and in case you didn’t spot it they comes with a double ended BRUSH (not sponge applicator) in each set!! I have the full range of MUR brushes ready to review so expect more on those soon..
PS. Let me know whether you’d be interested in a MUR/LORAC comparison post and I’ll see what I can find in Sephora.. What? I’m not at all excited about American beauty shopping 😉
