My Cosmetic Lenses

I have always loved the idea of coloured contact lenses. If ever I found myself with sight issues that meant I had to wear them for practical reasons I would absolutely try a tinted version but of course you don’t have to NEED lenses to wear cosmetic ones. I’m totally comfortable touching my eye but there’s something that makes me all squeamish at the thought of having to scoop something out of it. I love the idea of turning my brown eyes a piercing shade of blue, it would be such a change and so fun to play up with makeup.. it’s ALWAYS about makeup after all!

I don’t know how many of you watch Geordie Shore (they can count my Mum among their fans) but I’ve never seen it.. apparently the girl pictured is on it and her eyes are naturally brown but she’s been wearing coloured contacts for years. I never really considered changing your eye colour a long term thing, I thought it was for fun on odd occasions but based on a wear time of 8 hours per day each pair from My Cosmetic Lenses can last up to a year. Again, I assumed this kind of thing would be disposable but at £12.99 a pair that’s pretty amazing value if you’re wearing them all the time.

They stock over 30 colours from natural, subtle changes to bold, dramatic one tone shades. They claim to be the most comfortable cosmetic lenses on the market due to their high water content of 42%. – I would love to hear from any of you who have tried cosmetic lenses as I really want to try them, I just need you to tell me that they’re super easy to get in and out of your eye, haha.

I’ve used them to turn my muddy hazel eyes blue. I loved them! I dont wear normal lenses, they were purely cosmetic. Getting them in and.out took some practice but after a few goes it was fine.

I’ve used some once for Halloween and didn’t get on with them, I’d be keen to give these a try though

As good as it sounds, I’d never recommend wearing the same pair of lenses for a year. I’ve been wearing contacts for 6 years and at most it’s for a month providing you care for them properly and regularly clean them. If you wore them longer then that you’d end up with some pretty nasty eye infections
