My First Birchbox

IMG_1143

At the end of last year I decided to give Glossybox another go but I wasn’t impressed so after Christmas I cancelled my subscription. I asked you which of the current service available you’d recommend/most like me to review and Birchbox was the out and out winner.. so I signed up. I was particularly interested in the Bauble Bar voucher code and as I was one of the first so many to sign up with a certain code I also received a cute bracelet as a bonus. Looking at the rest of the box objectively I wasn’t crazy excited about anything else I got, it was all a bit same ol’ same ol’ however I love the packaging and the little details such as info cards and gift tag templates were a cute touch. I’m not expecting the products to be all that different to those I received from GB but I get the impression that Birchbox cares a little more about what they’re putting together and although what I received wasn’t quite ‘up my street’ the products were all still very nice – not a perfume sample of plastic sachet in sight I might add.

*What’s In The Box*

Alima Pure Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow / BeeKind Body Lotion / Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain / Nail Rock Glitter / Twistband Skinny Hair Tie / Number 4 Jour d’Automne Non Aerosol Hair Spray

As I mentioned it was the bracelet from Baublebar was the winning item for me, unfortunately the voucher expired the day I received the box so I couldn’t use it but when I signed up I hadn’t expected to get a box until January anyway so I guess it would have been a bonus anyway.

I will be hanging on to this subscription for a couple of months before deciding whether to try another so as I said in my video (below) if you have any recommendations let me know!

I’m still trying to decide which box to have, from photos and reviews I have seen I’m not going with any yet, I just keeping hearing ‘Well I liked one box out of that subscription’ and I think thats just not good enough!

I’m always keen to try beauty boxes but I really think they would just be pointless for me completely, as I can honestly say from your box, I wouldn’t find a use for any product whatsoever!

Do you recommend Glossy box? Would it be worth subscribing to?

I would like to try this!
Looks a bit better then the glossybox, which I unsubscribed to just before Christmas because it wasn’t worth it!
I have been debating starting another beauty box sub, but which one?
    Which is your favourite??

Beauty boxes just annoy me. I don’t understand why they can’t include stuff that people would actually want. Who cares about samples of £70 wrinkle cream or hair products from brands I’ve never heard of. How about some real high end brands, like YSL, chanel, estee lauder, things people might actually want!

I wanted to get Birchbox but they fudged up my order. They were really super about it though and it’s been sorted. Really want to start subscription again now – this looks awesome.

I too cancelled Glossybox, quite some time ago now, because I was so disappointed with the boxes. I’ve just subscribed to Birchbox, so the first box I’ll get is the January box. I’ve seen a spoiler for one of the products, which is something I’ve wanted to try for ages so I can’t wait til it arrives 🙂 xx
