Nails Inc Dupe from MUA

MUA Frozen Yogurt £1 here Vs Nails Inc St Johns Wood £11 here

I received this MUA polish in the post on Friday and absolutely loved the colour. It’s a gorgeous lavender/cornflower blue that was reminiscent of something but I couldn’t put my finger on what.. until I applied it. It’s not an exact dupe but c’mon.. how similar are these two? Way back when I worked for Urban Decay they had certain rules and one of them at the time was that if you wore colour on your nails it had to be purple. As a result of this rule I amassed a rather large collection of purple polish (would you like to see a purple polish post?) and another happy coincidence is that the concession opposite mine was Nails Inc! I think you can see where I’m going here but this was my polish of choice for about 3 months so I know it well and absolutely love it.. but it’s pricey! Granted it has lasted me as I’ve had it for 2 years and it’s still going strong but we don’t all (or always) have £11 to drop on a single nail colour do we? So when I tried this MUA shade in Frozen Yogurt (love that they’re naming them now btw) I couldn’t wait to share it as a cheaper alternative. I’ll admit the formula isn’t as nice and the brush on my bottle was unfortunately mashed up but for £1 MUA nail polish is good value. I have almost all of them and used to use them regularly before my collection grew and I suddenly had a great deal of choice but I would definitely revisit them and if I’m looking for a colour I don’t think I’ll wear all the time I would look to them first. By comparison the MUA took about 3 coats where the Nails Inc can quite seriously be done at 1 and some may say the cheaper option is a false economy but if you’re looking to amass a vast nail colour wardrobe they are very good compared to other drugstore polishes.

I’m one of those that doesn’t see much point in spending a lot of money on nail polishes. I get bored very easily. and colours come out/into fashion and then there are the colours that can only really be worn in a certain season. I just buy cheap ones (like Barry M or Rimmel) and then invest more in a good top coat. My favorite ones are the Rimmel ones with the wide brush because they are just soo easy to apply.

I love rimmel!! I never spend big money on glitter but I do appreciate a really nice formula that doesn’t take a thousand coats… in love with Essie at the moment

Amazing!! MUA doesn’t seem to stock much where I live, had to order the eyeshadows online – wish I’d looked at the polishes at the same time. Gorrrgeous colour.

I’d love to see the purple polish post (it’s my favourite colour) I own so many purples also, so it’d be cool to see if we have any of the same ones. The only thing I hate about MUA polishes are the brushes, I have quite large nail beds though. The absolute best purple imo is Illamasqua Jo’Mina. Thank me later 🙂
