Nails Inc Porchester Square

IMG_1593

I don’t know what it is recently but I cannot take good nail pictures to save my life. Luckily you can see enough to get the general idea and it’s a pretty popular colour so I’m fairly certain you will have all seen this somewhere before. I had heard the likes of VivianaDoesMakeup rave on and one about this for the longest time so when it popped up in my Boots Advent Calender at Christmas I was pretty darn excited to try it. Unfortunately nude shades are not universal and what works for one makes another look like she’s spent the night in the morgue.. I am the latter here. Not for me at all. I wish I liked it but something about the its tone doesn’t sit well with that of my skins. The formula is okay, 3 coats to get the bottle colour and it chipped pretty quickly.. in fact I had to retouch for these photos a day after painting so not awesome for a pretty high end polish brand but then Nails Inc have never really wowed me in that department. It’s a nice enough colour and I may wear it again as a base for something glittery but I have other nudes I prefer and I definitely wont be purchasing a full sized bottle of this any time soon.

I thought more than anything this post was worth writing because so many people recommend it but just as I don’t love it you might because it’s not the same on everyone. It’s like a foundation, you have to look at cool vs warm etc and how that will look on you, I like a little more colour in my nude but you might love this.. and that’s cool too!

I completely agree with you. It’s a lovely shade, but it’s the same with nude lipsticks – whether or not it’ll suit you is dependent on skin tone etc. I bought the gel version a few days ago, and I’m quite excited to try it :o) Xx

I love the colour if this but couldn’t justify the price just for a nail polish! Newgirl49.blogspot.co.uk x

That shade is gorgeous but unfortunately for me, I can never wear nude colours…I always end up looking like something out of The Walking Dead. 🙁

    Hello,
Do you know any cheaper equivalent for this colour? 🙂

not for this one but Rimmel do a nude in their lycra range that’s a bit warmer and I prefer it

This is the kind of nude colour I really love, but as you said I just don’t rate Nails Inc for their formula or lasting power, especially for the price.

Check out Porchester Square in the Gel Effects version! More expensive, but will blow your socks off even more!!

The same happened to me with Barry M’s Gelly polish in Lychee! Everyone was raving about it so I gave in but it looks terrible on me! Pinky nudes definitely suit me best 🙂

I hate it when things are disappointing but at least it was a part of the calender and not something you went out and specifically bought 🙂 great way to try things out!

I’m still struggling with the perfect nude too, three coats is a lot, I can’t sit still for that long. Clinique have some new ones I’d like to try.

I love this colour but I really can’t get on with Nails Inc as a formula. It chips almost immediately for me whether I use a base/top coat or not. For the price I would expect more but having said that I have this version and the Gel formula in the same colour too. I do appear to get through nail polish at a rate of notts and find that very few formulas last longer than a day on my nails without looking ragged and in need of a touch up. I use Seche Vite most of the time for a top coat but are there any good base coats you could recommend?
