Naked Basics

I can’t believe it took me SO long to buy this but as with all of my purchases recently it was my holiday that pushed me to do it. Laura (from LauraLovesBeauty) bought me an individual Smog eyeshadow (also Urban Decay) for Christmas which in the past I have said could be my only travel eyeshadow if I had it in single form but once I had it I knew I’d need more choice and the obvious once to me was this super compact palette of neutrals.

Although the first 3 shades look similar in the pan you can see when swatched that they are very different. That being said I could have done without foxy. I maybe could have done without Venus too but it’s always nice to have a shimmery highlight to brighten things up.. I could also use it underneath the deeper matte shades to add a metallic dimension. It’s so versatile and this selection plus my bronzey Smog is it for me, if all my makeup were to disappear and all that.. I would not need anything but these. I will try and take some FOTD pictures while I’m on holiday to show you some of the different looks I come up with with the limited products I’m taking but if you’re looking to pack light for your next vacation, look no further.

Urban Decay are my all time favourite eyeshadow brand, I don’t look to them for much else but they cannot be beat on formula in that department and even their matte offerings are beautiful. I wouldn’t suggest you get this as your first forray in to their shadows purely because I think the really impressive textures are the more metallic variety, you still very mush NEED the Naked (original) palette in my opinion but this is a lovely add on!

I absolutely love this palette, and use it on a daily basis, Faint is perfect for filling in my brows. Also, as you have mentioned perfect for travelling as the case is very sturdy and small enough to put in your makeup bag.

I really love urban decay and would definitely consider purchasing this, I just don’t really need it right now and would rather save for naked 3 instead, however if I traveled a lot this would be my number 1!

I took this to Las Vegas last year and did my wedding make up with it, it’s lovely and excellent for travel

This is the only Naked palette that I own – so far – and I quite like it. I’m still thinking I want one of the other palettes, I’m leaning more towards the 3 based off of my make up collection needs. I’d love to see some FOTD’s using this palette.

I love this palette also, its a great change from using my most commonly used Naked and Theodora palettes and as you said, it’s perfect to take with you as its so compact.

I don’t use foxy so much as it looks weird on my skintone but W.O.S I’ve hit pan on and venus is great for the inner eye to open it up!
