Naked Chocolate

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAYou must have heard about this new launch, it’s been everywhere already and it only launched this week. The third chocolate installment from I Heart Makeup (Makeup Revolution) is of the white variety and unlike in the others the shades are exclusively neutrals. Obviously where the ‘naked’ name came from and the perfect mix up of the popular Too Faced & Urban Decay palettes this has borrowed inspiration from.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOverall I am really impressed with Makeup Revolution shadows, their palettes have been great and the quality has been consistent but if I’m honest this one was a little lacking compared to others I’ve tried. Some of the shades (especially the mattes) really need a good primer to build to a decent opacity but on the whole the pay off is great and you can work around the not so good. Since there’s been so much interest in the new launch I’ll be doing a 5 looks/1 palette on this next week so look out for that.. and if you’re looking for more detailed swatches and names may I direct you –> HERE <– to Jane’s blog where she showcases them row by row.. I was running out of daylight!

Is it time to get bored of neutral palettes yet? Neat packaging though!

I guess it depends whether you’ve found ‘the one’ yet – I like this one cause it has some different tones to others I own.. that being said I bought and then sold my naked 3 cause those tones just weren’t for me. Not all neutrals are created equal 😉 x

Lovely palette, although I probably have far too many neutral ones already!

I was actually really impressed by the packaging on this one, it’s much sturdier and more substantial than their icon plattes

For the price it looks like a good buy

I love the make up rev shimmers but the matt shades seem to be seriously lacking in pigmentation. This packaging is fab though!

They do a white one now?! I have one of their other chocolate palettes and love it. The shadows are so blend able (especially for a budget brand) and pigmented. I may have to invest in this one. I do agree with a previous comment about the packaging though, as much as I photographed and edited mine, it still looked cheap.
    Great post 🙂 xxx

Believe it or not, I hadn’t actually heard about this new launch until reading your post! White chocolate is my favorite so I’m really thrilled about the packaging but I can see what you mean about some of shadows being a little lacking in pigmentation. Still, it looks quite decent for the price and you can never have too many neutral eyeshadows right?! 😉 x

Are these shades similar to the i heart chocolate palette?

This looks really good!! Can’t wait to get my hands on one 🙂 does it smell of chocolate like the too faceb one? Xx

I like the look of this one. I’ve yet to purchase the original palettes so have nothing to compare to. the price is fab. Can’t beat a natural palette 🙂 x

It’s funny there looks like theres loads of purple/mauve toned shades in the pallette but swatched they look like the perfect embodiment of chocolates! I think I’m definitely going to end up giving into the curiosity with this one. xx N
