I don’t remember the last time I bought anything from a blog sale but recently Kariis from Karrisx.com did a ‘insta-sale’ on instagram and I snapped up these two beautiful blushes from Nars. I have only had one powder blush from the brand in the past and coincidentally I sold it in a blog sale of my own.. it was Deep Throat and I bitterly regret it now but after playing with these for a week or so I have a feeling I will be buying some more soon.
Mata Hari seems to look different on everyone, given that I was buying online I took a little look at some swatched beforehand and on some people it looks like a dolly pink and on other it looks so much deeper. Since I’m pale I wasn’t sure how I’d like it but luckily it’s a lot more plum toned that I imagined and I’ve been wearing it a lot. There’s a touch of shimmer but nothing too much which is a good job because Miss Liberty is glitter gone mad. It’s classed as a ‘highlighting blush’ but it gives too much shimmer for me to use on my cheeks and not enough colour so I have been using them together as a blush/highlight combo and I think Miss Liberty really warms up Mata Hari which could be a touch on the cool side of what I like.
I’ve been enjoying a bit of a winter glow recently and these powders have definitely been in the mix with that.. I like a good highlight and a pinch of colour on my cheeks and the compact packaging makes these blushes super travel friendly – which is partly why I bought them.. I’ve been holiday shopping mad, I’ll have nothing to spend when we get there at this rate!
