New / FREEDOM Pro Melts

I am a huge fan of the Pro Melts formula from Freedom, saturated lip colour with some serious staying power. Under normal circumstances I'm more of a matte lipstick girl but these settle to a satin finish once the shine wears away (half an hour tops on me) so they're kind of a hybrid, I'm not sure that's intentional but I like it. The easy application of a gloss with the bold, stay put colour of a lipstick. Towards the end of last year they launched some new colours which I neglected to share here on my blog.. better late than never?

There is an odd one out here. Cat's Whiskers is a 'Butter' rather than a Melt' - these are sheer washes of colour that I'm sure (again) are intended to stay glossy but for me they behave more like a stain.. unless you're looking to top them up every 10 minutes. I absolutely love the new shades, Masterpiece, No Heroes and Drama being my standouts, the only issue is bleeding. With the first launch of Melts I had no issues whatsoever but with this second batch a lip liner is DEFINITELY needed! I line and fill in my lips before applying the thinnest coat I can of my chosen colour. They're super opaque so you don't need much and the more you apply the more likely you'll look like a Vampire Diaries extra by lunch. Tricky but still my absolute favourites from the line.

TIP: For the colours that are near perfect but just need a little something I like to mix them up. I'm a lazy make-upper at the best of times but using the applicators like a brush it's super easy to mix them on your lips and at £3 a pop you can afford to experiment! Did I mention there's a bright purple and a navy blue?
