I’ve had some of these new Colour Riche Mono Shadows from L’Oreal for quite some time but something put me off posting about them.. probably the fact the shade I originally picked up looked so blah (always neutrals) and another crumbled when I dropped it so I didn’t think I had anything amazing to say about them until 2 others arrived courtesy of L’Oreal. One shade in particular won me over and I felt I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about it.
L-R – Escape In Bordeaux, Mauvie Star
Escape In Bordeaux is the winner here, absolutely BEAUTIFUL in colour and texture and so very season appropriate. Mauvie Star is far more blue toned than I’d like and opalescent.. not something I think I’m going to get much wear from in truth but a lovely colour for the right colouring.
Here’s the other I picked up.. how amazing does this look in the pan? I could be wrong but I believe there are 6 finishes in this line – Nude, Matte, Lumiere, Smoky, Cameleon and Pop. There are 24 shades in these various categories which all look different but I think it’s a given that the Lumiere’s are the prettiest in the pan..
They are compact and providing you only need a couple they’re handy for on the go/travel etc but some of them appear to be set in to the plastic packaging directly rather than in a metal pan so if you were thinking you could depot and make a palette I’m not sure that’s going to be that easy. Also they’re pretty pricey, £5.49 for a single eyeshadow is a lot when you consider L’Oreal do a quad for £7.99. It’s unlikely you’re ever going to buy just ONE eyeshadow so for me unless you can get them on 3 for 2 I’d pass.. nice as they are individually packaged shadows are just a bit of a pain.
