I used Skull & Glossbones with a glitter polish a couple of weeks ago and promised to give it it’s own post soon so here it is! I haven’t given this much love since I bought it in Las Vegas in March.. I saw it and knew I needed it because it had been so popular last year but once I had it it looked a bit.. boring. It’s actually very similar to the Deborah Lippmann Waking Up In Vegas (here) but the OPI formula is much nicer. I wouldn’t say that as a general rule as I find the brand to be hit and miss with regard to quality but this is one of the best I own which is surprising as pale colours such as this are notoriously streaky and difficult to apply. I love everything about the application here.. I just with all of my OPI’s were as nice as this muted greige shade isn’t one I reach for often. It’s a lovely neutral for times when you want to look polished, it falls in to my ‘wear to be taken seriously’ category unlike the majority of my collection which consists of rainbow colours and glitter.. not quite so ‘listen to this 10 point presentation’ are they? These new ‘nudes’ are the future classics I’m sure I’ll wear for years to come but I’m definitely more of a hot pink girl.
Overall this is a definite winner and if you like these taupey grey’s you’ll love this, it glides on, 2 coats and your done, glossy and perfect! It lasted pretty well too.. a full 3 days without chipping has to be a record for me with any OPI. If you’re not big on white or like me are yet to find a good formulation this is also a great base for glitter or sheer colours.. you wot get quite as bright an effect as you will with a full on tippex base coat of course but in my collection it’s the closest I have and doesn’t take hours to get the bottle colour which is a huge plus.
This polish was launched with the Pirates Of The Caribbean Collection S/S 11 so I was expecting it to be limited edition but perhaps it’s popularity among blogger made it permanent? Do you know? I don’t but I have found a stockist (below) so I’m taking that as a solid maybe.
