I received this last week and couldn’t wait to try it out. My mascara collection is larger than any other single product collection I have, I’m always looking for something bigger and better but unfortunately most fall short.. this was no different. I’ll admit, as soon as I saw the wand I was skeptical as the most effective wands for me historically have had short, rubber bristles. This is quite the opposite, it reminds me a lot of the Bad Gal from Benefit only with a slight curve which claims to give your lashes a “big bold curl”. The formula was wetter than I like but as with most I assume it would dry up and become better over time so I will definitely revisit as I think the wetter the formula the heavier it is on my lashes and in turn you see less definition.. in my opinion.
Aesthetically it appeals but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, mascara is so specific to the individual. I could rave and rave about my new HG formula and it may do nothing at all for you. My lashes are a bit meh, not particularly long, dark of voluminous so I never feel I can judge a new mascara too harshly as there are so few I’ve found and liked (perhaps only 4 or 5 ever) but this is not great for me.
I’m not sure exactly when this will be released as it was sent to me as a PR sample but I would guess Spring and if the current Big, Bold version is any indication it will likely retail for around £3.99.
