OCC Black Dahlia

IMG_4027This is the first of MANY lip products I will be sharing with you from the amazing Sephora gift set – link – Laura brought me back from Vegas. I’ll do a dull review once I’ve tested them all and let you know whether I think it’s worth splurging on but in the meantime expect lots of lip posts!! Sephora’s shipping to the UK is now much more reasonable so their gift sets are definitely an option for those of you with major beauty lovers to buy for.. or of course to put on your own wishlist. For now lets talk about this OCC Lip Tar. I’ve never tried one before, they seemed messy and never appealed to me for that reason but this one was matte so I thought I’d give it a go. 1. The brush that comes with it is nowhere near soft/long enough to get a good coverage.. I get that it’s a mini but it’s barely worth having. 2. You need the TINIEST amount of this stuff.. I squeezed out way too much at first and even that was just a drop so if you’re in to this is will last you longer than you need it.. and this is only a sample size.

IMG_4030IMG_4031Of course a product that will last is only a benefit if you love the product and in this case I unfortunately did not. It was really disappointing. Nice when first applied if a little patchy but if it has stuck around like that I’d have been happy but it wore HORRIBLY. Definitely not something I’d want to wear somewhere I couldn’t be checking myself in a mirror every half an hour as I went for coffee with a friend wearing it and when I came back I was left with a liner at best.. not cute! I was so hopeful for this as Laura only had good things to say about it so don’t take this review as the be all and end all because obviously it works for some but I wasn’t one of them. Safe to say I wont be looking into anything else lip-wise from OCC..

Apparently, the only way for these to wear well is to layer them super finely and blot in between applications :/ A real pain in the bum though!

Oh I think this colour especially looks amazing on you lovely. I get that the formula may not be wearable though x

Aw what a shame! I love the Lip Tars..

I usually end up using an even lesser amount to use it as a stain before applying my primary lip color.

I was expecting you to like this because I’ve only ever heard good things about them. More people paid to give good reviews I suppose.
